Nice MG, but please, take those stickers off.
It takes away from the beauty of the bass.
They are gone and I am putting the pickup surround on the bridge pickup soon

Normally I'd say Fireglo is my least favorite finish for Ricks, but wow.
That's awesome. Especially the headstock.
thanks kcole4001, the toggle switch was an easy fix. the pots on the other hand may need to be replaced. I've been reading some old threads about bypassing the capacitor on the 4001 model to give it a fuller sound. anyone here tried this?

I would never give up my 78' 4001 -- for which I paid $250.![]()
Shiny makes it a Walnut. Enjoy.it's shiny - now I'll have to zymol it and take a better pic. you got me on the pickups though, always been like that since I've known it. bought it from my friend for $800 because he was moving and selling off everything, and he knew I'd been drooling over it for months. I just tried to pull off the same thing with another friend's gibson ripper but it didn't work - he kept it.

I got bashed on another thread because I said the bass was very limited, but it's that uniqueness that is so cool. I would never use it as my main bass but when I get gassed for the Rick -- only a Rick will do.

Finally got some flats on my 4001c64s.now I need to tweak the rods and I don't have a proper tool. Can anyone recommend something from the hardware store that will work? I just don't wand to go through trial and error to find the right tool.
