Ok, so that was fun! :)

1. My bad, I wrote "mid scoop" and meant "mid hump" .. "oops"
2. My post was 80 % tongue in cheek, especially that "but come on" part (complete with "razz" smiley - you know - :p
3. I'm glad we can play together and not take it all too seriously.. I was feelin a bit feisty at the time.

All responses to my post were spot-on. GFY! Awesome. :)

For the record, I mentioned I played a nice Corvette (don't recall the exact one but it was the nicest one in the store -- the other Corvettes there sucked IMO) and I have to say that Warwicks have a very nice, organic woody, earthy tone. I would certainly own one after I filled my gear closet with the others on my list.

Agreed.Popularity contest's a good way of putting it.
With all the different models,& with Spectors many factories,it's silly comparing.
Both are great brands.

Out of those two, the Spector, but I have been considering more Basses since then.

While the Gibson Les Paul embodies everything I need in a Guitar, my Bass preferences are much less defined. I have never met a Bass that could do no wrong in my eyes.



I am mulling over maybe a Sadowsky Bass as well as a Handcrafted BC Rich (Warlock or Mockingbird shape) or some form of boutique/custom Explorer-shape Bass.

If you have any information on who might be able to build me an Explorer-style Bass, don't be shy.

The problem with his post was it like it was OBVIOUS Spector were THAT better and we were stupid to play warwick because if we played Spector it would be soooo much better.

I can't see why, but there is particularly lots and lots of warwick hate. I know they are polarizing instrusments to players, but the problem is people who don't like them come and say why they don't like them in a way that it sounds like a truth and not an opinion. I really love my warwicks, and I love many other basses, but I can't stand the discrimination and over the top posts by people hating them. You don't see these kinds of posts about ANY other bass comapny that is what saddens me.

I must agree I overreacted myself, but this was the last of many warwick hate post I've seen that particular day and it was the one that made me angry. I'm sorry about the language I've used, but my point of view stays.

for the custom explorer, stambaugh would be the way to go. As from what I've heard: very high quality, custom shapes, custom everything, less expensive than others. There's a guy here with a VERY nice swirly bubinga flying V 4 strings bass from him.

Try not to let it bother you Phillipe.
There's a few that feel the need to post their hatred of W in ever thread that mentions them.It speaks volumes about these poor unhappy souls.They're like those annoying idiots at the pub that get a skin full of alchohol,then make absolute fools of themselves pretty regularly.
Do they deserve any pity?Sure.Why not?
Do they deserve your attention?Definatly not.
Any reasonable people notice their obsessive,repeatative behaviour & steer well clear of them.
