I have recently started taking a liking to the title Mr. and I have decided to put my last name in my user-name to increase my credibility.
So Mr. Lovejoy is a worthy change of name.
I haven't read page two, but I am blown away by all the Warwick votes. How many Warwick voters have played or owned Spectors?
A huge +1 regarding a Spector's indisputable ability to cut through a mix. I am a tried and true Spector guy, and I played a Corvette of some 5 string flavor at GC the other day while I was killing time and I LOVED IT in many ways, but between these two choices, I would go with Spector all the way. The Warwick I played didn't have the mid scoop properties that make the Spector a WIN. And didn't Warwick rip off the NS body style for their Streamer series? Just sayin.

the streamer body shape have been changed from the original NS to stop the copyright issues. There are differences in the two.
Well that is the purpose of active EMGs isn't it?
It is the same with their guitar PUs as well.
both of these basses have very prenounced mids. i would say the spector has a less charecteristic tone than the wick. i have played both and they are both GREAT basses i wouldnt mind owner either or indeed both of them. if you can decide on tone go with the feel.

The hardshell case I got with my Spector (sold the bass, kept the case) fit my Euso 5 string like a glove, but the Warwick is a bit loose in it leading me to believe that the Spector is a little larger than the Streamer LX5. It was certainly heavier. Tonally the Spector was more piano-like with the EMG soapbars (don't know the model but they weren't HZs) and passive controls. The Warwick with active MEC Js and EQ (4 knob with push/pull pot to turn off the EQ, when flat you couldn't tell the difference) had more grit and personality to the tone that I liked. I didn't A/B them and I'm often changing my cabs and amps so I can't tell you the difference in the tone as far as which has more mids or anything like that. They both sit/sat well iun a live setting, but the Warwick sounded better to me alone. As I said before, you can't go wrong either way, both are good choices.

This makes me wonder even further- How many people have actually played a NS-2H5? Because I played a Corvette the other day and it paled in comparison to my NS-2H5, but that's not the comparison we're presented with.
I'm sure Mr. Lovejoy realized just how unscientific these polls are and how much they are just popularity contests.
If I could, i'd play them both and let you know what I think...
If it were just for looks, with the finishes you've specified i'd take the Spector. I've played both brands of basses, but not much of their high end stuff, so i'm not even gonna vote though....

So, you're surprised that many people voted for warwick? man seriously *** of a comment is that? You prefer Spector, that's right. I prefer Warwick and almost can't stand Spector, I've tried them many times btw.

Since you asked, I've played many a Spector (including ownership) and did not like any of them, including the US Spectors. To my ear they sounded thin (to varying degrees)and generic, with a couple of them having terrible neck dive, and I did not like the feel of the necks at all. On the flip side, I find Warwicks to be full and have tonal personality, and I love the natural finishes and neck profiles. Every Warwick I've owned or played has shown incredible craftsmanship, especially my Thumb NT5... beautiful instrument that blows away any Spector I've laid my hands on. Thus, I voted Warwick, as it floats my boat and Spector does not, and I'm betting that most of the voters have similar stories as to why they voted for either brand.
