Indeed, that's from the Offset Guitars dressing room. I'm thinking in terms of a black pickguard once it arrives. Actually, the look I'm going for is the '70s Jazz Bass in natural but having the body done in Maple wasn't an option. I hope it comes out a bit lighter in color than the dressing room picture.

I ordered it in December and they said 1 year but according to several folks I've spoken to 8 - 9 months is typical.

It probably will be, and my guess us that it will have a more distinct grain than the body picture from the dressing room, which almost look like alder to me.

I feel for you. Waiting for instruments to be built can be somewhat frustrating. :)

The Super VI really appeals to me. I think that the rhythm circuit is a great idea in this application. I use it a lot with my Jaguar Baritone VI to go from a baritone guitar sound to a bass sound. For the time being a Fender VI will fill the bill but one never knows. If the money holds out a Super VI might be in my future.

It appeals to me too, for the same reasons you state. I like the rhythm/bass switch after I've restrung my Jaguar VI with baritone strings too.

I'm sure it will. Personally, I'm very fond of my CIJ VI, and can't imagine that one from Fender's Custom Shop could be any less likeable. You're in for a treat.

With single coils (even P90s would be cool) I think you'd have a winner. It would maybe even replace my Schecter Hellcat VI. I guess it would depend a bit on string spacing too. I find the spacing on my bandmate's Fender Bass VI to be too narrow. It's somewhat better (wider) on the Hellcat VI. But I am most comfortable with the spacing on my Burns Barricuda, which is a bit wider than the Hellcat's.

Wow I'm happy to see this thread have some life in it again... I am currently without internet at home (temporary situation, hopefully) so it's been hard to keep up with the TB forums...

I think that the rhythm circuit is one of Leo's most underappreciated inventions. A lot of people don't understand how it works and I didn't until I found that virtual Jaguar site that showed how the switches worked.

I'm afraid that I'll end up in the last stages of G.A.S. when only Custom Shop guitars and basses will do the trick. :) I have a CS Warwick Corvette, fretless with a 30" scale and now this CS VI. I've developed a very expensive hobby.

Kurt, I can honestly say that if you make a black version of the p-90 equipped Jazz-masterish guitar with the 30" scale and a maple neck/fretboard and a black pickguard, i'll buy the first one off the freaking assembly line. And those trems are the same as what were on the Bass VIs, but at the same time some consideration could be given to putting on a stop tailpiece or string-through too. But I honestly think that singlecoils are the way to go with this sort of instrument.
