Another strap suggestion in addition to the Neotech is MONO's Betty strap (with the Duraweave fabric). It's a lighter strap with a memory foam core and has a "grippy" texture that worked quite well for me.So.... I'm really liking this new Ibanez, the way it plays and sounds anyway.
One problem - the ash body is so light that it's a bit neck heavy. Never thought I'd say that about a 4 string Ibanez, but here I am! It doesn't really dive as such because my leather strap is quite grippy underneath, but I can feel that it's top heavy with, and it puts pressure on my shoulder. The whole bass only weighs 7.2 lbs, but it feels like much more because of this.
I've had constant shoulder pain for the last couple of days, so I need to do something.
Would a neotech strap help, or would the material slip on my shirt and make it dive?

Hmm, I think I'll look into this one. Thanks for the link.
This was not an easy decision but I've decided to put my SR700 up for sale. Here's the link to the TB ad: (the link says FT, but I changed that to FS)

And I made a quickie website with pics and a sound file here:

I sincerely hope you don't wind up regreting this decision - your 700 has an awfully nice grain pattern.
Sweetwater has an ATK800E for $750 on a 24 month payment plan - that's how I got my new SR705.

Though the ATK has excellent tone, I just can't get used to the weight and I h8 their tuner layout on the headstock, if they would just move the A Tuner about an inch I would be happy. But I agree I would prefer the sr 700 any day
I am actually referring to the ATX 200 which is solid ash (Weighed a tonne) . I only briefly held a 800 for a few seconds and I wanted to love it, but I was in an anti Ibanez mode thenI still haven't played the four string version of the ATK800, but the 5 string was a reasonable weight. And I'll still have two SRXs that I love and a SR755 so I'm pretty well covered with fast necks and light weight. (Actually, my Peavey is lighter than all the rest). I'll admit the 700 is the fastest neck and the thing is paradise to hold, but at the end of the day if I'm not getting the tone I want I'm not happy.
How crazy am I? I thinking of getting another SRX in a different color - just love those basses.

I'd love to get me an SR, probably a 256 or a five string model 300 and up with the exact same color as your guitar. With a rosewood fretboard for contrast.Well I traded in the sr506 today for an electric guitar. Very very very happy. I feel like I ripped the dude off, this thing is mint.
