I bought this about two months ago. Better pics to come soon. SR 405 from '95, made in Korea. Last year these were made passive.

Simply put: the letter(s) at the begining are location of manufacture. Depending on the year the first number or first two numbers are year of make. The next one or two are month and the rest is the stock number.

Examples from my two SR's:
1993 SR400: C3184**. The C is for Cort. 3 for 1993. 1 for Januarry.
2006 SR500: CP060289**. C for Cort again. 06 for 2006. 02 for Feb.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to jump in here and say hello. I just received what is probably my sixth and probably my favorite Ibby so far! Its a SR1200E premium 4 string and all I can say is...WOW!!! This thing is nice for what I paid. The Nordy pups are fantastic and even with the stock pre, it is a tonal delight for me. Going through an Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 into a Carvin 210 is just what I have been wanting....A nice, small, and loud rig to jam on at home. If I get into a situation where I need a better cab, I think I will go full range with a Fearless 15/6/1 or something similar. But back to the bass.....it feels like quality is all over it and it reminds me of my first SR, a prestige with p/j set up. I cant remember the model number, but it had the drop D monorail on it. I got this bass because it was as close to that bass as I could find and it has not disappointed me at all. I have not played it through anything big yet but will try it out at my church next week. Like I said...just wanted to say hello and get in the mix so to speak! :hyper:

Welcome and excellent choice :)

Btw the preamp was specially designed for that bass & pickups - don't even think of replacing it ;)

And I keep saying this: Premiums are built to Prestige quality. I'm glad when others agree :)

Yes, I feel like I am holding my old bass, but it sounds soooo much better! As soon as I can figure out how to get my pics down to post-able size, then I will put them up....cause I know how you guys roll.....NO PICS OR IT DID NOT HAPPEN :p

I've always had good luck using www.photobucket.com, been using them for years to post pics here on TB.

I believe photobucket auto-sizes your pics during the upload process. Afterwards, every pic you upload generates a hyperlink which you can then drop here in a post and viola - image! :cool:

The long story short is that you have the most options if you click on the Go Advanced button. Then you can use the paper clip icon to upload photos from your computer or the link icon to link to photos elsewhere on the internet. Since you said your file size was too big, that only left the link icon as a possibility. This method will show the full picture in your post. If you use the paperclip, a thumbnail will show in the post and then the viewer has to click on it to see the bigger picture. Not as much fun for the viewer, but less hassle posting a quick pic.
