Well i guess everyone is watching football so I will just sit here and type for the heck of it. I was looking at my 1206 again and was thinking how sweet it would be with either some Barts and a Aggie OP-3 or some Nordies....the only thing is the Nordies would have to custom made I think because they are the EMG 45 shape......1 1/2" x 4.00". Bartolini has a direct drop in that will fit in place of the stock ADX pups without any invasive things going on! I am not a six string player though. I just found it in a pawn shop and knew it would not be long before someone ham fisted it or scratched it all up. I had no idea it was 20 years old when i got it. The stock gold hardware was the only thing wrong with it other than it did not work when I plugged it in...so without even blinking an eye, I told the cat in the store that I would buy it not knowing if it was a simple issue or something more involved. He bit and I took it home, removed the rear cover and changed the ORIGINAL factory battery and it was up and running....now even though I have a couple basses that have gold on them, this needed it all replaced. So I gave it some Gotoh GB707 tuners(silver), some knobs, dunlop straplock buttons, and a Hipshot A style bridge, and Ken Smith tapercore strings on it came to life as a new animal!! The body is pretty much flawless! The neck is straight and the action is low. I did some looking in the Ibanez archives and found that it is a 1994 made in Korea. I have bought Brand New basses that did not look as good as this does. I don't think the person ever played it! The strings were probably original on it too! It sits nice in a new Ibanez case now and is not going to die a horrible pawn shop death!!!!! It is for sure alot of bass though. I hold it for a bit and then grab my 4 string 1200E and that neck feels like a drumstick to me. Its a shame that it will not stay with me, but I can't see me even trying to do any good with it. Someone let me know if you like what I did with it, because feedback would be cool as this is my first rehab involving changing out that much stuff on an older piece of gear. I think I made it better as a system by making the changes I did. Hopefully I won't get flamed for not keeping it original cause that stuff was going to to do ugly things to the bass if left on there. Well, thats it for now I guess....
