What color is that?

I looked them up at the Ibanez Japan website, and didn't even see the SR705.

In theory it's a see thru black (transparent black) over a figured maple top, but in reality looks more like grey. And of course, in good Ibanez tradition, it varies from one model to another

Oh, I don't know... some of the "plain and pale looking ones" are pretty nice, IMO.

I dream of this exact instrument in a 6 string!!!

I would buy 3-and refinish one in blue and one in orange.

No, that's actually beautiful, I love those natural SR600s... I was referring to the SR500s in Mahogany that sometimes look either really reddish or kinda dull (pale) though sometimes I'll see a nice deep dark brown, almost like the SR600 Walnut (though those vary too, but still look good with the grain where the SR500 is plain to begin with)

50X's finish is indeed different not only from one year to another, but from one model to the next. Usually the red & dark looking ones are older models with a thicker finish; the newer ones have a thinner coat (almost see thru) and they're straight poop brown.

It's Transparent Black. It's only listed on the EU version of Ibanez's website and looks like an EU exclusive.

I was quite surprised to see the fret lines wrapping around the FB edge. Makes playing the fretless much easier!

Ibby's are great, and the lower tier ones are great bang for your buck, I had an SR400QM which just felt great all around; comfy neck, so light, nicely contoured and very solid sounding. I got rid of it and replaced it with a Spector Rebop which I'm totally in love with but I'm still GASsing big time for an Ibby Prestige model which I've played for a bit and the newer Premium (another great Ibby bargain, IMO).

I absolutely love love love Spector basses, but I can't find one that I like that I can afford. A white Wimbish Euro recently came up for sale near me but it was over $2000. No can do.

I'm currently playing a few basses but my main is an Ibanez SR600 (pics are a couple of pages back if you wanna see). Fantastic bass, not just for the money either. Love it.
