thanks Crystalman! Glad you like the 305, they're solid basses. I think the seller is the neck (for both our basses.) I've never been more comfortable, though it's my main bass so that could be why. ;)

Indeed they are pretty solid basses. these basses have a 5-piece neck. I play my Ibanez sr305 with my band. I like how smooth, deep, and clean this bass sounded. it also sounds awesome when I use my effects with it. since I've been impressed with the sound quality of the Ibanez sr305, I've been thinking about purchasing an Ibanez sr300 for my brother's band.

As you probably now, the new Ibby models are finally showing up on their website. I must say, of all the new models, I'm diggin' those 255s the most (go figure)! Candy apple & pearl white finish matched with black hardware? Those look sick, man!

2 questions though:
1. why aren't they using the black hardware on all their painted basses, as opposed to that annoying cosmo black? That might work well for their models with a natural finish, but for the rest, solid black works best IMO...
2. why the heck are these models not available in EU (and the rest of the world) as well? I bet they'd be selling like cupcakes... I think it's unfair to limit the access to these basses...after all they're regular models, and not some sort of limited edition. And yet, we're stuck with the same ol' boring 505 / 605 / 705 with just 1 finish option for each.

Still no SRTs & SRAs, and none of the folowwing: 255, 375/M, 405QM, 605WNF or 755...geez !?!

There would have been no room in the box for a case or gig bag. Manufacturer date was August 2011 if that makes a difference.

Hello,

Just got a Ibanez SR1010 (1998 MIJ) in excellent condition a couple of days ago.

It has a mahogany body, 5-piece Wenge/Bubinga neck with Wenge fretboard, mid-shift (Vari-Mid) & 3-band EQ.
(And I scored it for $360 with original Ibanez hard case)

Since I am in love with this bass, I'd love to join the Soundgear club. :hyper:

Hey Guys,

I've fiddling around with my Ibanez SR800, I have never done any kind of set up before. I was wondering if the distance between the strings of the P p-up should be the same distance as the j p-up?

Right now the P is a lot farther from the from the strings than the J.

When I adjust the screws of the P p-up the p-ups don't raise up, is there springs under the screws?

There should be springs under the pickups...Might have to take off the strings and take the screws out to take a peek. Could be worn out or someone forgot to put them back in.. :confused:

You want the perceived volume of each pickup to be about the same. The individual height doesn't matter, what matters is that you have two pickups which you can switch to at any time without having to adjust anything else. It is quite common for pickups nearer the bridge to be closer to the strings than pickups nearer the neck.

I feel like I've stalked this place for far too long. Time to get myself out there. I'm a proud owner of an SRP400 and a quite new SR1205e. I wouldn't feel right without posting some pics for you guys:

Awesome bass. I like when a bass looks really awesome without being way over the top. Where it says a lot without saying a lot if you catch my drift.
