NBD: 91 SR800. A bit banged up, dirty and a seriously bowed neck when I found it. Price was right so I decided to take chance. Got the bow out with the truss rod maxed (will fix that later), shimmed the neck pocket, and installed a set of low tension Rotosound Swings. Super low action. I do like the Lo Z pickups. It’s definitely a keeper. My third Soundgear.

Beautiful bass. Even better than the first one.
Bridge looks normal, as the body is slightly curved. I think it makes getting consistent action much easier. What strings are you planning to put on the bass?
Thx! The only thing with the bridge what make me wonder about it was that the monorails were recessed deeper from the E-string to the higher strings but the B-string Monorail was also deeper than the E. BTW I had to to adjust the low B string action, it was too low. I was adjusting the octave anyway… Other than that it plays perfect and the neck is perfect straight even after 4 years since manufacture.

Strings will be Nickel Rounds - I had used EB Hybrid Slinkys on my 4-string bass with 45-65-85-105. I learned there is no 5-string set with these gauges plus a 130 from EB available.
So it will be either EB Regular Slinkys 45-65-80-100-130 or Daddario EXL165-5 with 45-65-85-105-135. Would you recommend to change the strings right away because they are 4 years on it though unused?

Yeah that is mostly cause the B string is so fat, but luckily it is easily to adjust.

Nickel Rounds are great for the Soundgears. I love the Cobalt Flats even more on my 4 string.
