Hopefully Seller will be reasonable. The problem is there are only so many of these basses... and they are gorgeous. What a waste. That headstock will never look right again.

I feel the disappointment! Just gone through the same thing with my 1345 (see above). The damage on your headstock is similar to the damage my bass had - I'm pretty sure the reason are the two zippers on the gigbag which they zip to the top prior to sending out these basses. Then while transport the bass moves in the gigbag and hits the two zippers from inside the bag. Dang, theres the damaged headstock. I can't understand why they don't put some foam around the headstock for transport or just put the zippers to the side of the bag…So.. sad day.
I just had this bass come in from France.
Ibanez SR5PBLTD. The limited series.
Damaged headstock. I have never had a new bass before. So bummed. View attachment 4580167
The SR5 limited models are georgeous instruments. If ever I come near a SR5SMLTD (the spalted maple top) I will buy it without hesitate. Even if I make a loss when selling the 1345…Ibanez SR5PBLTD. The limited series.
Definitely a bummer, but to be honest I would have given those to myself within a few months of gigging with it.So.. sad day.

The mislabeled sr800 on guitar center's used website? So, it looks like I've got a couple of new-to-me vintage-ish Soundgears on their way, due next week.....![]()

I totally get the disappointment. I wonder if the finish can be fixed and if the seller would pay for that. I'll bet some poly under the finish chips would make the damage disappear.I get that.... but I will own any damage I do. Not so keen on the damage without my consent!
Also I don't gig much, and most of my basses are pristine.
If the sr1200 is neck through, it would be the korean 94-97 model. No, an sr1200 and an sr885, both older models, late '80s/early '90s

I'm curious how much the sr885 weighs. I've seen some listings for low 8 pound examples.
Both quality instruments, been contemplating an 886 myself, cuz ya know, I need another soundgear to go with all my soundgearsIt is neck-through, and it does say "made in Korea" on the headstock
Once the 885 shows up, I'll weigh it & let you know![]()

I would have chosen this one if it was still available, but there is simply none new or used available… at least not in Europe. Great bass you have there! My SR5SMLTD....amazing, amazing instrument.
