In the early years of the Soundgears, I interpreted the branding to be an upscale marketing move. Lincoln/Ford, Lexus/Toyota, etc.. The "base" model was the SR-800 and everything else built upon that.

Were those first squier by fenders were made in japan around the same time? Maybe there's a common thread there.

That single cut is my modified SRSC805DTF. The Pope preamp puts it in another league...

Awesome! lookin forward to when the next one arrives! not sure how I feel about those tuners though, they look strange on a soundgear headstock to me :roflmao:

If that's transparent black, it was available 1996-1997.
Besides the tuning machines, also looks like it has dimarzio dp127, some non stock bridge pickup and a kickass bridge.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the look of them. But they're Hipshots, and work great, so maybe I'll live with them a bit & see how it goes :)

It is the trans black, looks far better than any pic I could take of it.

Both pickups are DiMarzio - seller did include all the original stuff, the tuners, bridge, pickups, and electronics.

Black basses and transparents are hard to photograph. Transparent black, almost impossible to replicate what we see. Sunlight sometimes works but hard to come by in winter for some.

Soundgear truss rod cover holes aren't universal.
Some of the ebay and reverb listings have measurements for the cover they are selling. Measure your truss rod cover holes and see if any of those are a match. If the listing has a part number, cross reference the part number so you can shop different sources, vendors, etc.

That's what I was afraid of, I've run into the same issue with Thunderbirds.
Figured I'd ask before I tried to learn it the hard way ;)
