You could always mount it with clear mounting squares and not worry about the screws.
I use this stuff to mount all of my wooden thumbrests. The truss rod cover has a door that swings open so just attach the mounting stuff, trim and attach.

Seems the LA Custom Shop is cleaning up its old hardware inventory...
...that the only bass from the LA Custom Shop, "The Inferno" (#1 on @LordHar's post), is equipped with the Mono Rail IV bridges, whereas all the Japan Custom Shop ones are equipped with current Mono Rail 5S bridges.
I saw these the other day but no purchase info on the site. I'm sure like you said they're already sold but I'd love to know what they're going for as I like a few of them.

These look so much like Sugi basses, and I know he has made high end Ibanez before. Not sure what the validity is but I've heard he was involved in the initial SDGR design too.
For a fancy Sugi though I think you are looking at 4-6k USD. So these are way above that.

For sure those look the same, and for a hand-made or super hand-finished bass with perfectly leveled frets and set up so that the action can be really low, light weight, super resonant wood and great sounding I can see paying $4k - $5k because that's what they're asking for high end Spectors. $10k is Alembic territory and even that's ridiculous. YMMV - people can spend their money the way they want, it just seems excessive.
Yeah seems really excessive to me too. But there must be a market. Curious who is buying them

Imho much better than having too much $$$ in a bank account and I don't need 200 Squiers.

Yeah I ordered a Wal bass over a year ago and it's less than those soundgears, I love me a soundgear, but I can't see myself ever paying that much for them.

Tell us more about the Pope. I have a 755 (MK1) and 1405 (Nordy Big Splits) and considering new pre's for both. I'm usually an Audere guy but willing to wander off the path whether it be a Pope or any number of available replacements.
