I wasn't planning on getting another Ibanez. But after selling all of mine a few months back, the other day I was sitting here reminiscing about them and spotted this little gem on Reverb. I had to have it.

(Note these aren't my pictures, they're from the Reverb listing. I received the bass late yesterday, and haven't had a chance to take any pics of my own.)

This is a 2009 SR700. It's in as near mint condition as a 13 year-old bass can be. The pickups have some of that "shiny worn plastic" look in a couple of spots, and the tuners look to need a bit of attention (they're a bit loose), but otherwise this is as showroom-level spotless as I've seen a bass. The body, neck, fretboard, headstock, it's all in beautiful and out-of-the-box condition.

And with that, I'm back in the Ibanez Soundgear club.

I thought i would post, each time i did some research for my five string i found this thread and TalkBass forum - thanks to the community for all the help. I have had the SR500 for years, but the SR5005 i have just acquired.

Thanks for the links but I had the headless. And the TMB looks a bit different. I mean just a regular looking SG other than the Mikro. Then again I might just scoop up the mikro

Thanks! The SR500 is all original, no changes to finish at all. I have a mate with one that is very orange / red in colour. My one does have a very natural looking piece of wood making up the body.

That 5005 is looking so good! Beside the perfect top I love the small details which separates it from the Premium models - the combination of M.o.P. and Abalone for the dots e.g. I never heard one in person, but the sound samples I heard were exquisit! Congrats!

Thanks so much Oliver - i am really happy! I must be honest though, this guitar is so sensitive and articulate in a manner that sounds out exactly how you play. I have had to go for some technique lessons because if i do not play correctly, the sound is so unforgiving... but when played well with good technique she sings beautifully. I have to really stretch my skills so that i can enjoy this guitar.. i am now on a serious journey to perfect my right and left hand technique.

That's exactly how I felt when I got my first Alembic.

Ibanez SR1345B (purchased new)

Story:

Had a 2002 SR405 (Korea) that I got used for a good price but didn't dig the sound of the stock pickups (DX5's) so I sold it to fund a 2021 SR605e which was a complete lemon (huge list of minor and major build flaws).
I returned the 605e and couldn't find any more of them in Canada from reputable/large dealers.
The wife was nice enough to let me increase my budget so I grabbed the SR1345B a few months back (a 2019 build).
Then I came across a used SR1200E (2012 build) for a good price and I couldn't help myself so I grabbed it last week, lol.

I had the same issue with a SR605e, i think there may have been a little wobble on the production line.... congrats with your well worthy upgrade! Enjoy..
