Righteous Thunderer - I've got a 755 just like yours and love it. Only difference might be that I tuned mine EADGC. It has the best neck I have ever played - crazy low action and no buzzes.

I agree with you for sure on the numbering system, it'd be nice if there was a guide or something. Regarding the SR755, I'm right there with you on the neck, although I had it set up SUPER low back in the winter, and it's starting to buzz a little with the hot desert temperatures so I need to do it again. I think this time I'm going to try it myself. I also left it BEADG, I use the low B more than I do a C (which is why I sold my SR506).

I think I'll be joining the club if I may. I have an SR405QM in shipment via FedEx right now from another TBer. I don't know what year it is, but it has the fixed mid frequency, and stacked treble/bass knob, which I think makes it a bit older? Will post pics when I get it - hopefully Tuesday.

When you get around to it, count me in!

This was my first "good" bass - a 20th anniversary Ibanez SDGR SR1000. I have made no mods (no need to!) and I currently use medium chromes. Came with the drop d-tuner. Can cover a huge range of sounds.

Currently use this as my practice bass as it is the smoothest playing bass i've ever tried. My Geddy Lee Jazz and my '97 P Bass Special (passive P/J config) get the most time when I play at church in our praise band. However, I bring this when it's a challenging set to play.

Honestly, I almost sold this bass when I picked up the P Bass Special. However, I found I couldn't part with it. It just plays so smoothly. And since it's so light, it will be with me until I can't play anymore.

i have a SR590 MIJ. The previous owner repainted to flat black. the original finish was walnut flat. the body was made from mahogany. I prefer see through flat finish so the grains are still visible. Im eyeing for the nirvana black of the wick finish. do you think it is a good idea. the warwick body is ash and known for its beautiful grains. how will it look in the mahogany body. ._____.

Yesterday I went to GC and played a wide variety of basses of various makes and models, primarily the P basses and J basses. Out of those, I concluded that I'm certainly still a P bass kinda guy. That being said, when I got home and played my SR755, I remembered why I bought it and was so happy that I did so; I'd take this bass over any of the basses I played (except for the EBMM Stingray 5 HH Stealth *drool*) any day! I didn't really know where else to put this, but I felt the need to throw it out there and figured the Soundgear Club would be the place to do so!

Early 90's with my then brand new Soundgear SR1000? cant remember the exact model,E or S ?.Great Bass.
I put EMG's in it,loved it and used it for 10 years.Biggest regret is I sold it when I tried something else,was a keeper,but I must have been short of cash at the time,long time ago now.

Pretty common. Not everyone has a camera and many people will use the stock photo from the company's website. When that's not available a Google image search will help you find one that looks similar.
He should, of course, mention this in his ad. Most people who do this will say something like - this is a stock photo, or this is a photo of one similar to mine - come see it in person. It really shouldn't offend you (it's flattery, actually) but if you want to come to the defense of people he's selling to, you could drop him a line and remind him that he should point out it's not his bass they are seeing.

Yeah, it's a poplar burl if I remember correctly. I really don't know much about it! I heard that Ibanez did a limited run for guitar centre, but I'm not really certain. I'm planning to do an active/passive mod soon... But I need to find a linear 20k push/pull pot with a centre detent... It's proving hard to find!
