I was emailing SE with pedal ideas, and one of'em was an optical compressor.

Apparently, they're already working on one.

I have emailed them in the past with ideas too. I would love a saturn VI with EQ options like the redstone. However I think a Baxandall tonestack vs fender tonestack would be much more useful.

Finally got to try the Saturn VI at 18 V. I agree with @dedpool1052 : it sounds really different compared to 9 V (or even 12 V). At 18 V, it felt more like a preamp. I had to push the Drive knob past noon to start getting some breakup, which wasn't super pleasing to me (too harsh). But below noon I got some slight coloration in the form of high frequency sparkles which wasn't bad. I think I prefer it at 9 V nonetheless with Drive around 8:00, but it's nice to have options!

Agreed with the harshness.
I typically leave the tone full up at 9 or 12 volts.
At 18V, I would drop it down to about 2 o'clock to balance it out.

I've got two bass boards for different bands. Both have some Spaceman.

This for my heavier bands, more modern sound. Just got the Aurora couple of days ago and it needs a little more work.

Explorer on the other hand is perfect for my seventies prog rock bands. I tried the Apollo here but Rodenberg worked better.

I played with the Pultech plug-in (vintage EQ) in Logic last night and really liked the sound I was getting. Much fatter than Logic’s console EQ. If the Spaceman gets close I may consider but it is not a cheapie.

Honestly, I'm torn. On the one hand, I think this would be a really handy tool for recording. On the other hand, damn, this is expensive! Even without shipping and customs added on top.

They should have included gut shots to help push us over the cliff. And a DI but then I imagine it would be even larger.
