I have D'Addario ECB81S XL Chromes Flatwound 45-100s on my Mini P; the windings are round the pegs but I was careful WRT preventing twisting and winding on slowly when I fitted them and so far, so good.

The MINI is perfect for guitar players too, who double on Bass. The scale length is easy to adjust to, and also great for kids who are just learning an instrument.

The Squier Mini P is 28.6" scale and we have enough trouble getting strings to fit. The Corsair is 24.6" scale - you'd need to cut any short scale strings on the main windings.
Has anyone got real-world experience of replacing the strings on a Corsair bass?
Both Newtone & Pyramid make custom length strings. I have Pyramid bespoke / custom length strings (flats & tapes) on my two mini P basses.

Good point, but the scale does cut out most string makers and so limits choice, which seems less of an issue with our beloved Mini P's. A point to bear in mind.
Yes (I'm not discouraging anyone from buying a Mini P ~ I like them) - but I still think a Mini P will be too big for a 5 year old to play
Hey again folks, just slapped some fresh D'addario tapewounds on the Mini, here's a quick little demo if anyone wanted to hear some tapes on this thing.
I believe the Fernandes BSZ-2000 would fit fine (taper correctly before the tuners) on the Greg Bennett Corsair MCR-1 Mini Bass, given the original Fernandes Nomad Bass aka Pie-Zo is the same scale [despite the name of the bass, the strings are (nickel?) steel on steel, and work fine with mag pickups]:

For flats, I would get the Gold Tone/La Bella MBLS (aka MBSLS on the eBay), and thread the lowest two through 1" long metal tubes: this would get the ball-ends to sit at a distance from the bridge, and keep the untapered sections away from the posts at the other end.
Only problem with the GT/LB set is that, while decently priced in the US, it's pretty dear this side of the Pond:

In Europe, getting custom-length Pyramid Golds is the more sensible option. It is understandable to be nervous at not having prepackaged options, but the German company doesn't look like it's going anywhere.

I must've missed your post about refinishing the mini. Beautiful shell pink with the cream covers. Do you have a link to the cream covers? The ones I bought don't fit.

Yep those are the DiMarzios.
Signal chain is a Cali76 compressor and Noble DI, so actually that sound clip isn't really a fair representation of the clean tone on its own.
For those of you who have replaced the Mini nut with a Graph Tech, is this the one that was a direct drop in swap?

Got my hipshot ultralight tuners, wrapping up my headstock waterslide decal. I just wet blocked this with 600 grit and the decal lines have disappeared. I have one more day of 3 coats of clear, then I will cut this up to 2000 grit and polish. I have never done these waterslides before.
I completed this one but had to start over on the decal. I bought a piece of poopie inkjet that looked cloudy underneath. I took it all the way and could not fix it.
I bought this quality decal from Atexx Music and instantly I knew it eas going to bury. It is a very nice decal.
