It will dive if holding on your lap not on the strap. 6.21lbs.
Mine is 2.8kg. Slight dive but I use a suede backed strap. No dive if you sling it low like a punk player
I put one of my custom Wood Mini P pickguards in classifieds if anyone is interested.

I just got this Spalted Maple pickguard for my Mini yesterday. Sold my solid Maple pickguard to my buddy.
I originally wanted a spalted Maple pickguard when I first modded the Mini but the guy that makes them could not find any good spalted maple locally. I ended up sending him a piece of spalted Maple I bought from ebay and he made me one for my Mini Jazz project and for my Mini P. They look great!

I played one of these at a guitar center a few months ago. They are so fun to play. Then discovered this fan site, and realized they must be really cool! I ordered a black one from Sweetwater yesterday!! I can’t wait!

Hi, earlier this past week a new shiny black Squier Mini P Bass arrived. Although an oldie beginner bass player I've been having a lot of fun with it. It's a great little bass.
Unfortunately, yesterday the volume control became really noisy except when set to full on. So, I intend to get a new volume pot and upgrade the tone pot, capacitor and jack socket at the same time. As my bass is still useable I'd like to order the new parts before I open it up.
Can anyone tell me, are the component values for the Mini P the same as for a standard Precision bass? Assuming the Mini P uses mini volume/tone pots, is there room to fit normal size CTS pots without having to do any major surgery? Would appreciate any help or advice.
