I would gladly gig it but I have trouble seeing the fret markers and the fretboard is cramped plus it looks funny on a 1.80m man. Being the bass player, I already get overlooked. Gotta swing a big dong on stage!

I am also 1m80!
Gradually moved from massive single-cut, neck-through, active 6 string bass to the Mini P & i look stoopid either way. I find peace & comfort in knowing that in both cases i look stoopid, and that no one cares. ;0)

I don't think the Mikro does anything different compared to the Mini. The J pickup is particularly weak. They have some nice colors, though.

I thought someone had commented on those at one point. I've had that site bookmarked since they came up.

Right now with the strong dollar those are just about $150 including shipping to the USA.
I'm seriously considering getting one now.

I'd probably replace the guard and plate with a single piece unit. Would cost almost as much as the bass, but maybe it would be worth it if the bass seems worth the investment.

I'd love to see Squier offer the Mini P in more colors (like how Thomann, Sweetwater, CME/Reverb have factory special runs) and to produce a Mini J.

If you're at all handy I suggest you get an inexpensive router or even better a rInvalid Link Removed.

Can make your own that way for cheap. Pays for itself pretty quick if you have off-size instruments.

Hey guys!
Those of you who have a J&D Mini Jazz, can U tell us more about it? I have a Mini P and it's my only bass, so i want an inexpensive but decent backup. And was considering those... just to have a different flavour at hand...
Would U recomment them? What are the strengths & weaknesses of these basses?

I've just had a look and I see what you mean about the mismatch in width. TBH I hadn't noticed it before.
But put TI Jazz flats on it and close your eyes (or in my case keep looking at the fretboard :( ) and the noise is good. Very good for a cheapie.
