Soon I'll have a HPF + LPF pedal as well and I'll be able to verify if I can eliminate the offending frequencies. I'm getting it for my Rumble 100, though, because it has a very boomy, loose low end. I partially fixed it by plugging the ports but cutting out the frequencies before they reach the amp makes the latter work better.

Very nice indeed. If I had the ability to paint I'd give it a go myself.
And I'm thinking about cream pickup covers, they'd look great on your Mini.
I stopped by my guitar tech Buddy's shop today and he had this Fender P bass sitting there for a new nut installation and I noticed the body was Mahogany. I asked him about it and he said that he actually made this body for a customer a few years ago and it is a 1 piece Honduran Mahogany body. He has some more Mahogany left that he has had for the last 15 years and it is all dried out and fairly light weight. I asked him if he could make me a new 1 piece Mahogany body for my Mini P and he is going to start on it this weekend for me. 
He is going to make it with a back route for the controls and route the P pickup cavity for a reverse P config. No pickguard. I have a new Dimarzio model P pickup with cream covers on its way for it and I have a Nordstrand 2b preamp that we will install in it. I think it will be a fun project.

My friend, it's been minuets since I finally swapped out my trimmed down Chromes, and put on the LaBellas. I'm amazed how they just took this bass to a new level! Truly, truly impressed, notes just ring out! And I thought the chromes I had on it sounded pretty good! I was missing out! Cheers!
I just checked and Thomann carries them. I can get them in Europe! Ooh mama!
I wonder if we could add a new post to the top of this thread that includes an evolving list of all the compatible parts available to upgrade this bass? Rather than having to sift through a million posts it would be great to have a master list of strings, bridges, pickups, tuners, pots/knobs, pickguards, etc. that are drop-in ready for upgrading this sweet mini bass.

The only OTS strings are La Bella. Newton and Pyramid can make strings to fit. Strings not made specifically for the bass may "fit" but it's unwise to suggest using strings that might break at the tuning pegs because the full winding is wrapping on the tuner or strings that you need to modify/unwind to make fit.
From experience, EMG pots fit the control cavity. Any mini pot will fit.
Any 4-string P-bass pickup will fit.
Any pickguard made for this specific model will fit. There aren't many companies making them.
Any 5-screw, 4 saddle bridge that says it fits a Fender will fit. Hipshot, Wilkinson, Gotoh, Babicz, Fender all make bridges that will fit.
I haven't swapped tuners on mine or read too many posts where folks have, so I don't know what tuners will fit.
IIRC someone mounted 3/8" Hipshots and they were a drop in
Asking the real questions. They look blue to me in this video. What's the color of the silk of the standard 49-109s?
Just an observation from the field. Over 20 years of having the full-diameter part of my flatwound set wrapped about the tuner post, and still no sign of breakage. Some flats may have a problem with this, but so far my Pyramid Golds don't.
That said, I don't like the look (or all the dust on the headstock when I took that pic!) so I ordered some custom-length Pyramid Gold flats to replace these with.

Labella with Hexcore will break according them over at Labella, both going around tuners and being mounted through body.
the Short Scale Cromes do not break as of yet. My E goes all the way around the tuner. It's fine.
