I put short scale GHS Precision flatwounds, 45-95, on mine (set 3020). These strings sound great, no problems at all.
This sounds nice.
I am GASing for a Mini P and curious about the GHS Precision flatwounds.
I currently have a Mustang PJ and a (heavily modded) Bronco both strung with D'Addario flatwound chromes and I like them, especially on the Bronco which is the one I mostly play, the strings are quite broken in since they are a couple of years old and sound really warm.
Anyway, I shall wait after the "virtual" Winter NAMM by end January to see if Fender bring out a maple fretboard Mini P and then I will pull the trigger on this fun little bass.
Oh well, 2021 is the P-bass 70th anniversary and as a Fender fan I feel compelled to own an American made Precision.
Also to consider, Fender might bring out an American made Mustang with just one pickup, maybe in the American Professional series.
That makes for a whole lot of basses.
Now let me think what to say to my wife
