A couple of days ago I said I was down to a Squier 40th Anniversary PB , well the next day I continued my love hate relationship with 5 strings by ordering a Glarry 5 string JB. Well , I guess I have 2 basses now . I can't believe how good that bass sounds , it has the tightest B string I have ever heard . I only paid $100.00 for it on Ebay . Just saved $3500.00 , had thoughts of buying a Sadowsky JP 59 .........New answer is 2 basses .

These are the ones I play most. The Jazz is by far my number one. The T40 gets a fair amount of play as well.

This is my USA Made Spector NS-1, passive. Main bass for non-slappity-poppity-stuff. (Tuned to Eb Rotosound Swing Bass 45-105)
This is my Euro 4 Doug. Main bass for slappity-poppity-stuff. (Tuned to Eb Rotosound Swing Bass 45-105)

I noticed you later sold the Relentless pickups. May I ask what you liked (or ultimately didn’t like) about them?
I’m considering getting a set for my GL JB2. It has a 1.5” nut and curvy 7.5” radius fretboard, so I was thinking the radiused pickups might function better,
plus I tend to prefer dual coil pickups over SC.

We're kind of living parallel lives. Instead of the Franklin I have a custom built Overwater Explorer. Fifteen years after that I picked up a Spector 5 string and had everything I needed. Twenty years later I came into good fortune and celebrated with a Precision which started the rot. Two years later I got a Jazz and the first two have now started gathering dust. They're not retired. They're just not busy like they were. There's a five string fretless acoustic in there by Washburn but who's counting?
Ibanez AEB5E- This was a gift from my wife for our first Christmas together (Christmas 2012). Currently strung with DR Pure Blues. I love having an acoustic bass to play on. It’s so nice to just pick it up without plugging in and have the low end. I play it unplugged almost exclusively because I don’t really care for its electronics. I’ll never part with this bass.
Schecter Raiden Special-4- This was a gift from my wife and my mother for my first Father’s Day (2014). Currently strung BEAD with DR SS Lo Riders. I play it because it is lightweight, has a great neck and it can cop a lot of tones (V/V/T with push-pull humbucker/single coil switching). For sentimental reasons, I’ll never get rid of this bass.
Sterling by Music Man Ray5- I’ve had this one since November 2021. Currently strung with DR Fat Beams. It sounds and feels great and cuts through a mix very well, yet also supports the mix. Truthfully this is probably the only bass I need.
