The Status Register - Official Status Graphite Club

I was worried this might not count, but I can see I'm not the only one in the thread with an original run T-Bass!

Mine seems to have been some kind of limited edition, as I've never seen one in this colour (British Racing Green?) or one with a matching headstock in any colour. I mostly gig my 5-string Ibanez-es these days, so she's been in semi-retirement, but this was my first 'real' bass, all the way back to playing in my high school jazz band over a decade ago.

She was getting a bit dilapidated sitting unplayed, but after an hour or so of fret polishing, a tweak of the truss rod and swapping her stone dead roundwounds for d'addario tapewounds, she's good as new! Plus with the tapes providing a smoother old school tone, she's now got more of a niche vs. my Ibanez 5-ers.

That's a beauty - I remember the ads. See below!

I also have an original run T-Bass, and I mean from the original run. Serial number 0XX! It has a one-piece maple neck.
Later runs went with multi-piece necks.

I've had it for some years now. Got it off ebay. It must've hung in some music store for a long time before ebay because it was literally unplayed NOS!
The frets had patina on the exposed areas between the strings. Dead mint and with the original flight case to boot!

I still regularly keep it in the rotation. I actually like it best with flats - it makes for a very thick and articulate bottom, great mids. It's a keeper!

Here's yours:

Thanks indeed! Already added to my signature.

I have to say that there isn't much I can add about Status basses that hasn't already been said.
Some of the finest basses in the world IMO. I had a Mark King Signature Standard for a few years
and it was wonderful. Circumstances forced a flip, but I'd love to get another Status someday.
Meanwhile, the T-Bass keeps me happy!

Hey guys, it's my first time to made an order. It's been a week now and I haven't received my order confirmation email. Is that a normal process? And will they start the bass in production even if I haven't received the order confirmation yet? I've no worries about status because they're very nice to me. I just want some clarification. Thanks for any infos.

I would just write back to Rob & Dawn. What did you order?

I talked to Dawn last Friday and she said she will send me that day. But I know they're very busy nowadays that's why I don't want to annoy them. I was just hoping I could get some more infos here. Anyway I ordered a S2 Headless bolt-on. Thanks for the reply.

I wouldn't worry too much. The confirmation emails aren't generated automatically, as near as I can tell. But you *should* receive a physical mail confirming the order and providing a receipt for your deposit, though it took a couple of weeks for me to receive mine in the US - and I'd expect it to be not much faster for Thailand.

I don't know what kind of backlog they mentioned to you when you placed your order, and I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, but in the case of both of my Status builds, it took Rob a couple of months from the time I placed the order to the time he was able to start the instrument.

I was lucky enough because they already have neck for the bolt on. So Dawn told me that it would be 6-8 weeks. How long did it took your basses to finish and what basses did you order?

I've ordered a Stealth and a Streamline, both of which are monocoque graphite designs that take a while to build. The first took about 5 months from order to delivery, the second took about 3.

wow, those basses are awesome for sure. its my first status bass. and i really never buy something i never tried. there's no doubt that their built quality is one of the best out there so i'm not worried about that. i just hope that i will like the tone. if things will come out fine, i'm already planning on getting an S3 black beauty maybe in the beginning of 2017.
