unfunky, before you go ahead and put together a 410 + 115 rig you may want to use the search function and read up on why many people here will tell you that it is not a good idea :)

...and THIS is why I come here. Science and cold reasoning. I was so pumped to trade up for the 4x10 I didn't take time to do any research. "More speaker area = harder rockin', duh." Now I have to rethink everything.

Thanks for keeping me on track.

To a degree, it already has. Have you seen the prices of Sunn/Sovtek/Orange/Matamp gear on ebay recently? Its unnecessary.

old sunn gear (at least the tube heads) are always somewhat expensive. but sunn solid state amps cost next to nothing.

sovteks are pretty cheap as well most of the time, i have a friend who has a few tube amps that hes gotten under 500 bucks.

Orange has always been expensive. and as far as i know, matamp has as well.

ebay just as a few stupid people trying to get psycho money for things they "think" are that expensive. theres a guy thats been selling an old green matamp cab that belonged to matt pike for like 2k for the last 5 months, and it doesnt even work. not a chance he ever sells that thing.

I'm not even sure if this belongs here, since I guess Mastodon are thought of as being more....."prog-metal" but listening/watching the Live at the Aragon DVD has me really appreciating Troy Sanders.

I didn't get to see much of the band when I saw them live a few years back, I was just stuck in a bad spot at the venue. I was in a better spot when Dethklok came out.

Anyway, the bass is very well-mixed on the DVD. Sounds slightly better on the uncompressed PCM stereo track than the 5.1 Dolby Digital track.

Show last night was killer. I highly recommend people check out these other bands that we played with.

And Matt, if you have a song named Busey then I pretty much have to check it out...

The best show I ever played with Old Crow was with Hull.

Killer band.

Awesome dudes!

so hey, what are you doomsters using pedal-wise these days? I know that's another forum, but since we're all here already....:bassist:

I'm back to basics right now...bass==>Wattson Classic Fuzz==>amp. If I'm feeling reaaaallly saucy I'll use an MXR Bass Octave Deluxe, too. since I'm playing in a duo, I just tune before we start and don't even leave a tuner in the signal chain.
