M. Pickles: i have used them simultaneously... while there are some usable tones there, i prefer to used them separately.
BassJ.: thanks for the clip! that is quite a similar sound. i think earlier i said the SUPERCOLLIDER was akin to a muff in many ways... but it's apparent that it is, in fact, closer to ToneBender in its fuzzy character. i appreciate the clarification!

Remember kids - a tonebender IS essentially a muff - but with one less transistor stage (3 instead of four), one less pair of clipping diodes (1 instead of 2), and low gain silicon trannies (BC184C instead of 2N- something or other.)
What does this mean? it means everyone out there with a big muff - russian, nyc, whatever (just not the IC muff or the LBM) can mod their muff to sound like this pedal.
It's becoming rapidly apparent that a tonebender and its variants are the DEFACTO bass fuzzes.
