With different settings on the Sensitivity (or whatever it's labeled) know on the Assmaster, you can get gated, or at least dead-silent between notes.

aiiii, emjazz. here are some clips:
(this clip) starts with a clean sound, then to the SUPERCOLLIDER, then the Neo Fuzz ("fuzz" knob at 12:00), then the Assmaster, and then (as a bonus) the Barber LTD SR. just because.
and... it ends clean.(this clip) features a fuzzier Neo Fuzz. first, i play with the "fuzz" up to 3:00, then i do a "gated" version. it's kinda hard to get the gated thing right... but it's in there!
and... the SUPERCOLLIDER doesn't really do the gated thang. the Assmaster... well, kinda.

For the neo does it need a reversed polarity power supply or it's own dedicated boss standard? Something in all I have read is confusing me.
It's boss standard but it reverses the polarity internally so it then no longer works with other pedals so you need a dedicated power supply for it or the Voodoo Labs or Burkey Flatliner

Hmm I'm really liking this pedal. I haven't really been a massive fan of muffs when I've tried them but this sounds damn good. I'm thinking it would do a Muse/NIN fuzz sound pretty well. I wonder how I would go ordering to Australia?

just bought one right at this moment. i wonder how it will compare to the new ehx bass big muff. either way, this thing sounds killer thanks to burgermeister's clips.
Got mine the other day and it's perfect for me, just the right tone I was searching for. Gobs of low end, and rich warm fuzz that never gets too harsh even with the tone control cranked up. I've discovered that putting a Tonefactor 442 filter after yields some nice drum&bass sounds!
