ahh ok..guess ill just have to make room for it somehow..doesnt seem too big, a bit taller and wider then a boss id presume (based on the pictures from bassfuzz). This really seems like an excellent pedal.

This is hands down the best fuzz I've tried - it reminds me of a tonebender sometimes and a keeley fuzz face that I tried at sam ash once other times, but I have yet to exhaust the possibilities with this thing...I cant go to loud because I'm in an apartment...I think I'm going to drag my rig to my brothers house this weekend and let er rip!
One thing I've noticed, is that it's very sensative to the mids. I have a Dr. bass 2460 (2x12 + 6") and a Dr Bass 115 and I had to pad the mids back on the 2460 about 3db with the mids on the pedal set flat to get an even tone similar to what I got out of the 115 at first. Any thoughts? Is this typical of three way cabs and fuzzes?

so after more than 4 months with this pedal, I can say that is really is a great fuzz, probably the first and last of my fuzz pedals to stay more than a month.
Is anyone else bothered by the hiss/high noise when not playing notes? It's really hampering some stuff I want to use it for, but I don't want to get rid of it - any suggestions on a small, good noise gate/suppressor?

I don't mind it too much, but I'd like to get a gate for it. Prolly a Boss NS-2. I though about picking up a rackmount noise gate since my big rig is with the band I use it in and I have an empty hole (well it's filled with a vented panel).
I love the sound of the SC too much to pull it of my board. Maybe you sould look into a gated fuzz like the woolly mammoth, if you are running passive.
Yeah, I love it too much to take it off as well, and I have no inkling to get a different fuzz, even a wolly mammoth seeing as I tried it at the gtg here in town and wasn't that impressed. I'm looking into getting a rack again soon, but I'd rather have a small pedal at the moment.

I use a preamp/poweramp rack with my "loud band" and that's the one that sees the fuzz. I though I should get rackmount noise gate for that project. My other band I only need my Sub, Comp and Tuner, so no noise gate for that.
Seems like for your purposes the Boss NS-2 would be just fine.

Oh I should also mention that I tried the older NF-1 (Boss Noise Gate) after the SC, and I didn't think that it worked to well.

Put it first or just after the pitchblack and see if you notice a difference. When I had a Bad Monkey and an OC-2 before mine, the noise coming through it when I wasn't playing anything was so bad I had to shut it off for quiet sections. Then I discovered that putting the SC first in line stopped the noise.
I'll be giving that a try, although I'm active. I do have a 250k Volume Pedal (that gives me no issues) should I put it right after that? ...TNX
Ah well, I also get loads of noise with my active bass through the Supercollider. Many fuzzes behave differently with active basses due to their low output impedance and most vintage fuzzes being designed to hook up to high impedance passive pickups. You can build an impedance buffer box to get around this issue, I believe Arger effects can build you one too.

Well I get a little less noise with just the SC after my EB Volume Pedal Jr in the signal chain. I'm really looking for a passive four string for the band that I need the fuzz in anyway. At home and rehearsals I don't care, at a gig maybe a little more so but I have a feeling gigs are a long way off.
Either way, back to the drawing board. Going to try SC > Volume Pedal > Blah > Blah >.....

This is very close to my dream fuzz tone, but if only it could be a tad more distorted. Any idea where the dials on the pedal where when the clock hit 2:10?
