Any room on the side for one, similar to the ground lift switch you use on some of you XLR’s?
You know what would be really cool? Another variation on the Venus, but not a DI. Just a tube preamp pedal like the UA or Slampegg with the tube and that same tonestack from the Venus. I like the look and sound of the Venus, but it is not something I would want as an always on DI.
Maybe it could be the Venus RB? Venus P?

Unfortunately no, the D.I. transformer and XLR circuitry are taking up all the room on the sides, there's no good way to slide another switch in.
I'll think about it. I was hoping Venus Z would be more popular than Venus X and it has sold a couple more units, but still hasn't done anywhere near as well as I'd like it to. It's been hard to get people to take a chance on it.
Yeah I've thought the same, I've been close to ordering a Venus a couple of times, but I'm not certain I'd use it all the time, I'd likely want to switch between it and another more vintage sounding preamp, which means putting it in a loop switcher, and negating half of the functionality of it.
That is a shame. It is a great sounding pedal and is very different from the other pedals you make.
I don’t use the DI is my setup, but it doesn’t bother me to have it there. Unless removing the DI enables you to move to a smaller enclosure, I’d leave it as is (just my 2 cents).
I went ahead and picked up a Venus Z just in the last day or so; I am planning on using it with my practice amp (PJB Nanobass), as well as a grab and go DI and tone shaper when I don't want to deal with my main board. Unless I need something specific, I am hoping it provides a good, solid baseline modern tone. I think it will work well for this purpose. I also allegedly have a Rustybox on the way, so I am super curious to compare these two back to back. Yes, I am deep down the rabbit hole. . .
Can't seem to find this from a search, so hopefully a simple question: what are the frequencies for the Underground Accelerator's bass and treble shelves? I have the newest version if it matters. Trying to dial something in with my cab sims. Thanks,

It will be in the hands of Dylan at USPS within the next hour.Underground Accelerator uses a typical Fender tonestack which does not have fixed frequencies for the shelves, they're interactive and sliding.
Thanks, I understand how the tonestack generally works, but does the UA match the default settings here? What would be the correct resistor and cap values to plug in?
As I understand it this is an accurate representation of how the circuit works given the placement of correct value components. The TSC program shows the values and allows you to change the values of the components to vary response. These changes in value are why one version of the tmb circuit will respond different from another. For example the Fender version is the basis for the Marshall tone stack but there are different values of the components.
I just clicked on the link posted above and the component values shown in there match what I do on Underground Accelerator with one exception: I use a log A pot for the mids control, not a linear pot. I personally like the way it responds better and that's how I've always done that stack on PA, UA, and Dreamcatcher.
Please excuse my ignorance, but I've never had a tube preamp and am interested in the new Venus. I play active pre basses (Warwick,Sandberg,Alembic,Warrior,etc) will they behave well with the Venus as is? Or, should I swap out to a 12AU7 tube? I play 100% clean tone all the time(country band). This is all foreign territory for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I pull the trigger on one.
Venus Z is meant to be a clean preamp. I don’t know exactly how had you would have to hit the front end to get it to clip. My SBMM Ray34ca, Ibanez EHB1005ms and Spector pre-ReBop all play nice with mine.
I would definitely try it as is. I'm willing to bet you won't have any issues whatsoever. If it somehow just refuses to stay clean for you, then you can look into trying a different tube.
Have you tried swapping tube brands yet to see if it changes things? I'm curious as to how much of a difference it can make. This is foreign territory for me as I'm gonna be coming from using an Atomic bass box with IR's and sometimes a Darkglass A/O pre/di. I'm trying to find something that's just a little warmer/fuller than I can get out of my current setup.
