An easy "recipe" is putting the MORE in front of any tube amp. Just absolute butter. I swapped out the 12AX7 in V1 of my PF50T for a 12AU7, running my MORE into that has been one of the smoothest bass tones I've ever heard in person.
Alright, the die is cast. UA ordered. I have a big gig (for me) on Sept 21. Playing the local major live music club for the first time. This will be the final addition to my board for that show. Looking forward to seeing what this UA does. Thanks for the help y'all.

Garage sale is a handful of UA, a Black Eye II, and a JC Emerald. No real news on product releases, I have a few things in the works but nothing solid enough to give a release date. I am actively working on Furthermore, Grand Slampegg, and SBVT II but none of them are close enough for a date. Of the three Grand Slampegg is the closest, but it still needs some work before a prototype will be ready.
Just ordered a Neptunium to run in my board, couple questions: will phantom power fry the unit? And shifting gears, I run ann amp less rig for my guitar as well as my bass (which is, for the record, empress comp> HX stomp>j48 for now but soon to be Neptunium). Essentially an Origin Effects Revival Drive into a Two Notes Cab M+. Which SushiBox pedal would provide me with a little tube warmth to that rig? The More is jumping out at me? Would that be the “right fit” to just as tube warmth- don’t really need drive. Wondering if it would be good to run it after the Cab M so I can run my rig as follows: wah>compression> gain staging> Revival Drive> delay and tremolo> cab m> more> PA?
Just acquired a Slampegg which I'm super excited about! My first Sushi Box pedal, and first piece of tube equipment overall. My current pedalboard has a MXR Mini Iso Brick as the power supply, which has 4 ports at 9V/400mA and a single port adjustable 9/18V @ 800mA. I gather that I should have that single 800mA output powering the Slampegg?
Yes, in order to be able to transform the just 9 Volt to the 200-something of plate voltage that the tube in this pedal runs at it needs a lot of Ampere.
Phantom power will not fry Neptunium, but a couple people have reported getting noise from the unit when phantom power is applied.
Tube warmth without overly changing your existing tone is basically what More was created for. Personally I would run More in front of the CAB M, especially if you're using the CAB M as your D.I.
400mA is enough for a Slampegg, but 800mA will help it power up a little quicker. The step-up from 9V to 350V takes a fair bit of power, but really the biggest draw of current in a tube is the heater itself. When it's heated up and stabilized the heater for a single tube will sit around 150mA or so, but when it's first trying to heat up it will try to pull a lot more.
I'm getting ready to jump into this world and explore a setup where my board just drives a power amp. This combo is probably what I'm going to be trying first. I'm coming from an Eden WT550 and the main thing I like is the 5 band semi-parametric EQ. I think the 3 band parametric combined with the baxandall filters should have more than enough flexibility for me. I'm hoping to get a nice bit of warmth on the edge of breakup from the Finally as a base "clean" tone.
Probably a dumb question - I'm assuming if slam the Finally with a boost pedal I can then push it into overdrive territories? I've been playing around with cascading gain stacks into the next, and it's something I'd like to try and retain.
Too bad you can't find some older versions of some PCB's you are not making still, I would love to buy any old design PCB's if you have any laying around.
There is one tiny thing that I find annoying on the C2CE web page, there is no link back to Sushi Box to click on.
On the Sushi Box shop page there is the DIY PCBs link and on the C2CE shop page there is ......... no link back to Sushi Box Shop.
Yeah I know it's trivial but sometimes I look at the C2CE first and then I have to go searching through all my bookmarks to find Sushi Box after.

I'm actually going to be removing the link from the Sushi page to the C2C page, I'm getting too many people that don't realize they're separate websites and are complaining that their Sushi Box account login doesn't work on the C2C website or using the Sushi Box contact form for C2C questions. But the main reason for it being a one-way redirect instead of both is that I've always felt like if you're on the C2C website you're there to build pedals, and you're most likely not planning to buy a finished pedal. But I also want to split them more because I prefer to keep the two as separate entities. I'm not trying to keep it a secret that both companies are run by the same person, but it's easier for me to stay organized if I can seaparate the two.
I actually just went through last week and dumped all the old-version PCBs (143 in total, along with 86 old-version enclosures) into a giant box to put into storage. I don't have any use for them but it seems a shame to throw them away. That being said I will not be selling them because I don't want pedals with Sushi Box production PCBs but that weren't built by me to be floating around the world. I'm already having too many instances of people building pedals with C2C boards and mentioning Sushi Box in their sale listings, resulting in other people's customers reaching out to me to repair pedals that I didn't build. I don't want to stop selling PCBs, but I don't want the Sushi Box name associated with things that I didn't build.
Would you consider adding the Sashimi Fuzz to C2C? It's not a fuzz pedal but I think it's a great and underappreciated overdrive, others may appreciate having access to it in the future.
Fair enough, I like jumping from one page to the other since I will buy PCB's and finished pedals when I want something enough.
I didn't realize people would ask you to fix home built pedals when they don't work, I know how annoying that can be since people always wanted me to fix their personal stuff being the maintenance electrician and I repaired all the electrical and electronics at work.
I was actually after any older C2CE type PCB's if there were any laying around and not the Sushi Box Pedals type PCB's, I don't know how long you have been selling bare PCB's for but I thought (hoped) there might have been some older versions laying around.

It's not so much people asking me to fix their home builds, it's that people will build something then sell it, and their customer will come to me when it stops working instead of the person that actually built it. I politely explain things and say I can help if necessary, but I will charge for it, whereas I don't charge labor fees when I fix Sushi Box pedals because if it stops working then it's on me (usually).
Black Eye is actually the oldest C2C PCB I have, it was the first one I did. I used to have a couple DIY boards back in like 2018 that I did with 6N21B tubes, but it was still Particle Accelerator, Ambassador, and Black Eye, and the current C2C versions are vast improvements on those versions. Not to toot my own horn, but I like to think I'm a MUCH better designer now than I was in 2018 when I did those early boards.
This made me remember once at work when this huge Tongan bloke asked me to fix his TV, we were working 12 hour night shifts back then.
He said it just needed a new power cord put on it, when I asked him what happened to it he said he asked his wife to turn the TV daytime soapies down a bit because it was too loud for him to sleep.
He waited 1/2 hour and then grabbed some side cutters and cut the power cord when she refused to turn it down, he forgot he wanted to watch the fooball match the next evening.
I laughed while I replaced the power cord for him.

One thing I notice on the C2CE page is that it very clearly states that the builds are not for beginners. I am glad that is transparent! Is there a place though that [anyone] would point someone who is a beginner but is interested in learning the basics of pedal construction? Searching 'build bass effect pedal' on YouTube just brings up a feed full of videos about how to wire up a pedalboard of pre-built pedals as opposed to literally building a pedal
