Thanks for that information Nathan, would you change the capacitor or the resistor to change to 60Hz and what value would you change them to?
It looks to me that the resistor is 220k, would changing it to 330k do the job ?
If I wanted to change the capacitor what value would you suggest for 60Hz?
Lastly, what size are those tiny SMD components.

Without knowing what the circuit is around the HPF is and what effects changing the components might have downstream it is best to get your opinion on the best way to make the change on the HPF frequency.

Both components there are 0805, and you'll probably want to swap the capacitor and leave the resistor. 10nF for the cap should get you right around 60Hz for the cutoff.

Thanks for doing this! It's fun to hear what that pedal can do. I love how thick and wooly it gets on the red channel.

Does anyone know how the Dreamcatcher compares to the Smoke Signal? To my ear, they sound similar, with maybe a bit more fatness on the Dreamcatcher red channel. Are those pedals related?

Keep in mind that both channels can be run from very clean right on through filthy and everything in between. What I recorded was just how I tend to use it with the Fender J. I pretty much always run 1 side cleanish and the other overtly dirty. With a different bass my eq would be set differently, etc etc.....

The circuits are completely different. Smoke Signal was a direct clone of the Verellen Meatsmoke (which Verellen was not happy about). My approach to the design of Dreamcatcher was basically if I were to design a two-channel preamp from scratch, without knowing that the Meatsmoke existed, what would it look like. They're similar in the sense that both are two-channel preamps with a clean and dirty channel and Fender-style EQs, but even the voicing of the EQs are different.

There is also the upgrade from ceramic capacitors to film capacitors, that was hard to do in the little box. Also obviously the soft bypass switching which mutes the output for a handful of milliseconds to avoid popping into your amp/PA/etc. Not really a sonic thing, but a quality thing in my opinion.

3 runs through the riff (about 35s)-unaffected, DC blue channel (bass 4, mid 10, treble 0), DC red channel (bass 6, mids 10, treble 6). Both channels 12AT7 tubes. Fender J (BEAD) neck pup full, bridge pup 1/2>>>>HPF set around 50 Hz>>>>light Empress comp>>>Focusrite>>>>Garage Band.

Welcome to the silliest/ most awesome practice setup ever, my Grand Slampegg B-4. Just got the GS up and running, and it sounds great. Super meaty and warm sounds coming from my MJT/Fender necked Precision, even through the Nanobass. I think if I had to grab just one pedal to mirror the bass sound in my head, it would be this one. Love it. The JC Emerald is there mainly for when I feel like embarrassing myself by attempting to play guitar.

loving the venus z so far! it is like the polar opposite of the neptunium and it pops in a mix in a really fun aggro way. the treble frequency (7khz) is so much higher than I am used that it practically feels like a LPF, which is awesome.

hi mids are 1khz, which IMO have a good aggro feel and make the bass pop, but a little goes a long way. low mids are 250hz
