Correct, the only difference between this run and the last is the buffered 1/4" output, other than that it's the exact same pedal.


My suggestion would be to set your XLR level first then adjust your 1/4" output appropriately. There's nothing wrong with using both outputs on the previous version of Neptunium, it's just that the controls will "fight each other" if you suddenly turn one up and may have to adjust the other as well. So my best recommendation is going to be set your levels before you start the gig so you don't have to adjust anything on the fly.

Using a boost on the 1/4" output could be an option though, so your 1/4" level on the pedal stays where you set it and any adjustments needed on the 1/4" output could be adjusted on the boost.
Thanks, I haven't had any issues running both at the same time, but I've never really had to max both out, but the fact it's an addition to the new release made me at least start to think about possible solutions for if it arose.
My gig spares bag has a TC mini spark in it as a get out of trouble pedal so I might try that.

It should be possible, but it would require a new circuit board design for the add-on buffer and it would require some surgery to add it to the existing board. Doable, but it would take some work. I can take a look at a design early next week and see if I can swing an estimate at what it would cost to do.
 
A new batch is good, considering people are reselling Neptuniums for $450+ here and on Reverb.

Did they even use them, or are they just commodities to be bought and resold for profit? It's ridiculous. Go make a buck somewhere else, guys.

@Verticos nailed it. Tube life is measured in hours, which means if the pedal is plugged in, that's time against the total life. My typical recommendation is that if you're not going to be playing for a couple hours, probably best to unplug it. If you're on a 15 minute break between sets, leave it plugged in. That being said I will often do tests where I will run a pedal for 24 hours to make sure there aren't any problems that don't show up right away. Other times I plug in my personal pedalboard and forget to unplug it for a few days.
So does this mean there is a draw when power is supplied or any time something is plugged into the input?

Yes, the circuit is powered up as soon as power is plugged in. I don't switch power based on the input, in my experience that's only done when batteries are involved.

It's probably been asked but I missed it... What does all the odd notation inside the Neptunium's Np circle mean?
93 is the atomic number of Neptunium (Np) (it sits between uranium (U) and plutonium (Pu) on the periodic table of elements)
5f4 6d1 7s2 is the shorthand notation for Np's electron configuration (scientifically written as [Rn] 5f4 6d1 7s2)
237 is the most frequently occurring isotope (atomic mass) of neptunium

Of course 93 would seem to be a logical number to build, either now, or as the total production run.
If he wanted to up that a bit, he might aim for 237.
But that is just my science brain having some fun.
 
93 is perfect, but given he's already 40 into this run, I feel he's already built that many...
OK, how about 144. The number of neutrons in the nucleus of Np-237.

Marketing copy could go something like
- enjoy the nuclear warmth from the 12AU7 tube
- appreciate the neutral response (or maybe radiation) directly from the 144 neutrons in the core
- independently use the control rods (volumes) to vary the reactor output to either the XLP or 1/4" plugs

This could be a fun exercise over a few beers.

I was originally thinking of doing 100 because that's how many I did last year, but given how quickly the first 40 went (sold out in 5 hours) I was thinking about bumping it up to 200. Now that you mention it though, it seems pretty reasonable to stretch it to 237.
