Kind of embarrassing that I replied with the same info the pedal maker himself answered with a half hour earlier than I did.
My page obviously had not refreshed as I had thought.

I have been a GK player since 1984, but I have always loved Fender amps too. I've been holding out for the furthermore since Nathan gave the specs on it many months ago. In the meantime, he comes out with the additional Neptunium release, now the PMLE, with a tone stack that I'm very familiar with…I am in a FOMO state, but am determined not to break.
When will the Furthermore be ready!

Furthermore has been a lot more difficult than I had hoped. I still want it to happen so I'm still throwing money at it. SBVT is also really close, just need a little more free time to get that one finished up then Furthermore will move to the front of the queue.

Not without considerable difficulty

For most of my career as an electronics engineer I've felt like my experience as a pedalbuilder has helped me excel at my day job a lot more than the other way around. But now I'm getting to a point in my career where I feel like my experience working on complex projects with people way smarter than me has started to have a bigger impact on my pedal building.

If 5-years-ago-Nathan could see the circuit boards I'm designing today, he would $hit bricks. But my goal is to be able to say that again in 5 years about myself now. I'm still learning and improving, and I hope to never stop.

Well that was a nice surprise of a drop, I've been toying with the idea of a Venus Z for ages, but with the ridiculous import duty we seem to be getting here now it was making it a fairly expensive proposition for a pedal I likely wouldn't use as often as my other sushi products. Then this comes along and gives the flavour in a slightly easier to justify package, it'll either be a gateway to a full Venus or answer the question that this kind of sound is purely for my enjoyment but less for gigs etc.
Either way, I should find out soon, as it's ordered.

I know I've said it before, but it's really refreshing seeing the way you aim to continually improve and develop your products, unlike most brands that sit on a design for years and years to make the most of the initial design work they did.
It might not be the most economical thing to do in a business sense, but in terms of creating some very happy customers it's really appreciated.

Honestly the biggest factor there is that the design part is my favorite part. I've had this conversation a few times with people, I really only get excited about building the first couple units of a pedal. After building the 200th Finally, the novelty starts to wear off and it feels like a job. But designing things is a really fun exercise because there's a good deal of problem solving and "I wonder if I can make this work" aspects to it, it really makes your brain work. Also, despite having handled tens of thousands of circuit boards by now, I still get that feeling of "THIS IS SO FREAKING COOL" every time I get a new circuit board in. Circuit boards are neat.

That being said I try not to think about the dollar amount of circuit boards I throw away every time a new revision comes in.

So I just went thru the first 20 or so pages on the thread. Wow cool stuff coming. And did I see a reveal for the “Cascade” a tube analog chorus pedal. Did I miss the LA tube comp? Is that the single slice comp?
Now my GAS really gone bad. More beano please! Just order a UA based some great feedback from this post. Thank you.

If we could only use them as bricks we could have a new house every few years, but the joy one can get from a good PCB is great.
I can get 5 PCB's for the price of 1 beer at the pub, I get a lot more fun from 1 batch of PCB's and it lasts a lot longer.
I also usually have 4 spare PCB's after I build the first one, you can't drink the same glass of beer 5 times.

I bet the minister for finance is happier if you are NOT spending the money down at the pub ( bar in US ? ) as well.

I've looked into it, but so far haven't found anyone that makes sense. Some companies have flat-out refused to deal with it, some have quoted absurdly high prices, and some have said they would do it but only if I continue to purchase all the parts and ship "kits" over to them for assembly, which means I'm still doing more hands-on work than I would want in a turnkey setup.

When I discussed this with my wife, she said that I should stop looking at outside firms and just hire her as a technician and she would build them for me. She's not an engineer, but she's a brilliant woman with steady hands that enjoys repetition, so she builds them every bit as well as I do, if not better. She has been involved in an ad hoc role in the past, doing some of the build steps while I did others, but last month she did her first batch where she did the entire assembly herself start to finish.

I still do final testing on everything regardless of who builds it and I always will, I'm the only one that knows what things are supposed to sound like and I won't give that step up. But having her on board in a bigger role has been amazing, some nights she'll do all of the building and I'll just deal with answering emails, shipping, and ordering supplies.

The LA based compressor I did was Deep Dish, it was discontinued a couple years ago, Single Slice is the only compressor I have now but it is not LA based. Cascade was unfortunately shelved as I wasn't able to get consistent results out of it. I still want to do a chorus, but I need to learn more first.

It's been a while since I've been as far back as page 20, you've only got 1200 to go! Cascade has been and gone, the LA comp I'm sure was Deep Dish, which is now discountiued and becamce More (The Amex of PEedals, don't leave home with out it). I think you'll love the UA.

GLWTS! The Robot was replaced with the Glass Buttefly (similar idea but with tubes) I one from the last batch and I've not seen them come up 2nd hand at all. I've just this week swapped mine with my Bass brother from Donny @_Tay_ , I have his single slice.

It was/is a fantastic pedal but I don't think that many (comparatively speaking) Butterflies were released into the wild. @lomo can tell you just how much you are missing out!

Check out the archives on the Sushi site (although there are some things no longer showing) for what you missed out on or CSC for the DIY buiolds that are available.

In terms of what's coming next, Natahn has been protyping the SBVT II (no prizes for guessing which amp it's emulating), Furthermore (based on More but does everything!) and the Fire box (power amp emulator type thing, which is the missing link for my set up) but I'd put some of my hard earned King Charlies on the fact that there are probaly ideas running through Nathan's Sushi brain right now that will see the light of day sooner! (I'm stating this in the postive). See PMLE and Nathan's (3rd from*) last post

There is a great Sushi community on here so ask any questions and we'd love to hear how you get on with the UA when it lands.

I think building a chorus with tubes in the circuit would not be very hard, building a chorus with tubes that sounds blody glorious and is worthy of the Sushi Box name is on a way different level.
Good things take time , great things take a lot longer and is immensely harder to do.
I think I would rather wait for as long as it takes.
