Why are you doing this to me, man?
I was set on downsizing since we're getting our windows replaced, but this was impossible to resist
I PLANNED IT SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU.
Man how absurd are windows though? When we bought our house we loved how much natural light we got through all the nice big windows, but we noticed in our first winter that they were wearing out and leaking, so we got some quotes to replace them all and the lowest quote was $30k!!!
Yeah no joke, we're about to drop more on this project than we did for our down payment way back when. What in the world? lol
It'll be nice when it's done, since they are the originals from the 80s and about the worst contractor grade wood windows you can have. Most don't open, no soundproofing, they're warping and letting air and bugs in in places... etc
But why couldn't the previous owners have done it before they got foreclosed on? Oh, I guess that makes sense... Nevermind.
Anyways, excited to try the slampegg - really want to run my NS EUB into it and see how that sounds... And my fretless Tony Franklin P. At least those don't have to go to fund the project.
Just got my Neptunium. Super fast shipping, especially considering it was backordered when I pulled the trigger Saturday night! It sounds great, but I learned very quickly that it does NOT like 12v. I thought I read somewhere that it needed 12, so I set my cioks sol to give it 12. The 1/4 output volume knob was super noisy, the pedal fuzzed out with the knob around 11 and didn’t do anything past 12. I switched back to 9v and it’s all good, works like you’d expect it to. Once that was out of the way, I got to try it out and it sounds great! HPF on, bass at 12, treble at 9 seems to be my sweet spot for now.

HPF on, bass at ~max, and treble at 2-3 o clock on the Neptunium is pretty magical imo (stole those settings from Tim Lefebvre's noble, heh)

The latest project I am working on is not drowning in Neptunium/Finally v3 orders. I fell way behind when I was waiting for transformers and I was able to clear out all the backorders when I got them in, but I get new orders every day so I haven't had time to build up stock.
SBVT II is probably really close, I just need like one hour to just sit down with it and not have to worry about the other things I'm not doing. Maybe this weekend (is what I've been telling myself for a while).
I have one other project I've been on-and-off working, hopefully that one will evolve enough to be talked about and formally introduced soon.
EDIT: and before I forget, there are about 70 Neptuniums left to be built before I'm completely done.
Seeing I asked for this I'm gonna have to buy it now! Well in a few weeks as I head out to Vietnam Friday night for a month for birthday celebrations!

Is there an updated feature/knob/etc. list for it? I think it's been in the thread a couple times IIRC but it's been a minute.
So UPS shows up just before I had to leave for the movies. No time to plug it in, but I made time for the necessary knob mod. One pot devices with a large face MUST have big knobs.

As it stands right now:
- Gain, bass, mids, treble, volume
- 8-way mids frequency selector
- three 12AX7 tubes for MORE TOAN
- XLR D.I. output, with switchable bypass option
- FX loop in between the preamp and the D.I., so something like an IR loader could be run after the preamp but still take advantage of the D.I.
Man it sure would be nice if they did. I can't complain though, my wife is literally sitting in the workshop right now assembling Underground Accelerators while I'm sitting at my desk answering emails.
Apologies, I missed this post when I was going through earlier. I just received a large shipment of Finally circuit boards today and I still have transformers, but unfortunately my enclosure supplier is behind again, so I expect Finally v3 to start shipping again next week.
Greenhouse: Just before bedtime, low volume, initial test.
As a clean boost with nothing, or unity gain in the loop, its a pretty subtle, lovely sounding boost.
As a dirty tube overdrive, it sounds authentically Amp - like. I tried a Spaceman Polaris, McSpunkle Gnomeratron, and an Omnicomp, all running clean and hot, with potent results. The Source Audio C4 Synth, with the output slamming the loop, was glorious.
After putting away my bass and rig, I decided to swap the ECC81 (60), with a Tung Sol 5751 (70), to see what a little more gain sounds like in the morning light. Good night Gentlepeople.

Random thought regarding this and the Firebox:
I like using the Korg Power Tube Reactor in an FX loop to add saturation and sag to a solid state amp, and i find that (when you get the settings right) it works REALLY well. Obviously when* I get my hands on an SBVT II I could just but the Power Tube Reactor in that FX loop as well. But regarding the Firebox, have you ever looked into emulating sag in a tube amp for any of your pedals? Because then the Firebox can be used in any FX loop to now emulate a true tube power section. Just purely out of curiosity if this is even possible with the way the power supply in a Sushi pedal works (SMPS i think?)
