Yeah, output transformer, tubes and enclosure would probably cost you more than some of your pedals sell for.
But I can dream, can't I?
Robrob's site is awesome! Maybe someday I'll get around to experimenting with some of his designs.Rob Robinette changed many amps into smaller 1 watt amps but he used triodes for the power stage, often a single 12AU7 tube to drive the push pull output transformer.
There are many of his designs to choose from, I made one up from his Bassman Micro and used the C2CE power supply to power it, I had to place the output transformer on top so I could get bass frequencies ( Musical Power Supplies transformer ).
My power amp can push out 1 watt and I like it for home use and with Sushi and C2CE pedals.
You can experiment using his designs as much as you like.

What was the symptom?
There's more difference between ECC81 (12AT7) and 5751 than just the amplification factor. I recently came across a reference to a website discussing this. I've been enjoying my new Underground Accelerator. I've noticed, though, that the settings on it that sound best tend to be different depending on the amp I'm plugged into. I have several amps I use in different situations (home, a couple rehearsal spaces, gigs) and I'm starting to think I need to label the amps with notes about my UA gain and EQ settings.
Has anyone else experienced this?
The other thing I've started to think about is that I play two very different sounding basses (fretted and fretless) and maybe I need two Sushi Box preamps so I can set them up optimally for each bass instead of compromising. Another UA? Something different? Hmm....

Might eventually have to get a Finally again at some point; maybe do a further shootout of sounds for you all
Pedalnetics makes a reverse DI box with a Unagi E4305 transformer in it for just this reason, XLR in and 1/4" out.

Every variable in the chain matters. My pedal settings may need adjusting if I change the bass or the cab (or the setting on another pedal). Heads can be just as different but in my case they both have sweepable mids and are more flexible. This is why I hate nested digital menus.
I recently got a Neptunium, and now I have a problem… I want more Sushi Box pedals. I’m truly blown away at how it brought my whole sound to life.

Maybe try to get an OCTABVRE MK3.33 on the next drop in July? It’s my first octave pedal and I’m happy with it. Some nice reviews are coming out as the first batch is making its way into the hands of bass players.
My favorites are the foxrox octron 3 and the trex quint.
