Unagi label is applied by one of my sticker experts (aged 6 and 8).

When I was that age my dad would come home from work and tell me someone had given him a "model train / slot car / other electric toy" at work but it needed a new motor or brushes or something to make it work, luckily they had some spare ones at his work that fit perfectly so he brought them home so I could repair the toy before I used it.
I became an electrician just like my dad was, I wonder why.

Probably not really the intention of the pedal, but how does the JCE do at clean/edge of break up on guitar?

I would guess that since it is basically the preamp section of a Marshall JCM800 it should sound similar but with a deep switch for more bass and a bright switch so you can NOT have the bright caps in circuit so bass guitars can use it as well.
I have never had the pleasure of trying one YET, but that will most likely change in the future.

That actually was the original point of JC Emerald, it wasn't until the most recent version with the voicing switches added that it became a killer bass machine. Any setting on JC Emerald will work well on guitar and will deliver a delightful breakup.

My 6 year old seems to be the most at-risk of becoming an engineer. She has always liked coming to the workshop and hanging out while I work, so when she was 4 I gave her a screwdriver so she could "fix things" and she proceeded to remove every screw from my GK Backline and remove the top cover.

She now has her own designated screwdriver and installs the bottom plates of probably half the pedals I build. She's uncharacteristically patient when she has a tool in her hand and a job to do.

I concur with Nathan on this regarding the JCE being equally adept for guitar or bass tones clean to that special "M" crunch. To my ear the dual tube pedals have an added dimension.

So about a month ago I entered into the world of SushiBox by purchasing an underground accelerator and I really like it. At the time I mentioned in this thread that I was looking for a clean tone specifically and a couple of other tube options were mentioned.
I’m okay with a little hair but not much more than that.
What would be good tube replacements to get a mostly clean tone with a touch of harmonic complexity?

@noahw1 your underground accelerator came with a 12AX7, which is top of the gain factor of 100.

The Finally ships with a 12AU7 which is basically meant to be fully clean at a gain factor of 30.

One step up from the 12AU7 is the 12AY7 which has a gain factor around 40. That’s what I run in my Finally, and it’ll stay clean about 2/3 of the way up before it starts to break up.

You might also try a 12AT7, gain factor 55-60 (I don’t remember) BUT they’re a lot easier to find than the 12AY7

JJ has all of the ones mentioned. They also have ECC803S (slightly lower gain than 12AX7, I like one of these in my UA), E88CC/6922/6DJ8 (but check with @Sushi Box FX about compatibility in this circuit), and variants ECC832 and ECC823 that have one half high gain, one half low gain (the difference is which half). You can visit the Eurotubes website (a U.S. JJ distributor) and read their Preamp Tube Descriptions, which have some useful facts if you can dig them out of the marketing ... umm, enthusiasm. Yes, that's the word I wanted to use, honest

I keep reading that the 5751 is a better sounding mid-gain tube than the 12AT7 so I ordered one for my Finally, which has too much hair and output with a 12AX7 (a custom request I made). It's a 20 Euro gamble I can take at the moment.

Gotta spend some proper time on the Grand Slampegg today. My singal chain this afternoon/evening was Dingwall (Made on Canada) Super P, GS, Scarlett2i2, KRK Rokit6 this is exacly what i bought he GS for and it doesn't disapoint in the slightest. Dialing a tone is very easy and even at the extremes the GS sounds musical and useable. The last time i had a device with just bass and treble was my dad's selmer treble n bass 50 rig i used back in the ealry 90s. It was so straight forward to get your desired tone and it brings that beautiofual tube warmth to an otherwsie steile set up.

Still need to but a boost in front of it and see how it breaks up!
