That made me want to watch it, that is a killer demo. I especially enjoyed his pre/post demos showing where to put it in the chain for what sound you want.

More gain? Put it before a drive. More volume and warmth? Put it after a drive.

lol I didn't even watch that far. Just his initial play-through the pedal at various volume settings.

I know he mentioned that his video was normalized, so there's not really much apparent increase in volume as he turns the Edison up. This has me questioning, with the Westinghouse, how much volume gain is actually on tap? If I wanted to run it with the Gain at like 3:00 (for example) for significant effect, I assume the output would be pretty hot at that point?

The output gets pretty hot. For a quick test I used a dB meter on my phone (not super accurate, but quick test) and bypassed my clean tone measured 71dB, with the Westinghouse on and cranked it was 89dB. Turning the voltage up also gave it a little more output, but the phone dB meter seems to weirdly max out at 89dB :P

That is your calling to play bass. Do you know how many bassists started playing because of that same pickle? It's practically our shared origin story :D

Honestly since I started focusing on building for bass my bass skills have increased a ton, I could probably pull it off, but unfortunately that would mean we're looking for a new drummer, and I'm still waaaaay better on drums than I am on bass :p we're a lot more likely to find a bassist better than me than a drummer better than me.

Oh I'm definitely an outlier (and 3 kids actually ;)). My main kit is a DW design series acrylic, Sabian AAX cymbals, but I got an Alesis Strike electric kit for my birthday so I've been using that for practicing on.

Acrylic? o_O :vomit:

my brother (my drummer) has been using a Roland td4 for a while now (damn covid) the high hat pedal is shat. I’ve got to change the actuator out.

I know, I was a big critic of acrylic for the longest time until I actually played one in person, the looks already had me (I promptly mounted LEDs in mine) but the sound finally won me over :P Plus a lot easier to clean, not as sensitive to changes in temperature, etc.

Hi hat controllers are a nightmare, I've only had my kit a couple months now and I already swapped it out.
