The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Alright, I'm getting ready to make my circuit board order, and I think I'm going to go with SBVT. It's close enough to the original that you know what it is, but not so close I'm expecting a cease and desist from Ampeg. Plus Sushi Box Valve Technology sounds super cool :D

Yay I named a Sushi pedal! This means I get a free prototype right :roflmao:

Seriously though...definitely gonna have to keep that on my radar and try one out sometime this year.

Now we're getting somewhere. I have everything I need, except components? Typically I would run up to Radio Shack but.... guessing online is the really only well known source for components, dang - on a unrelated note, the sushi switch washer, @Sushi Box FX , glass?? Can't wait to try her out. @shaggy45 what supply are you using?

Mine is super loud on 9V , didn't notice much noise with DC7 or 1Spot (home studio volume though).

Please send pics of mod :)
You shouldn't hear a difference in volume between 9V and 12V, the plate voltage will still be the same.

The switch washer is acrylic, laser cut in house :D Glass would be super cool, but I don't have a convenient source for it or way of cutting it.

I actually have a Dr. Wattson on my bench right now, maybe I should try the mod myself first then let everyone know how it goes and give pointers on how to do it.

Hot toob shot!

So this thing running at 9v into my CabZone LE sounds freaking awesome!!! Nathan, wow, just wow.

The addition of the gain makes it amazing. I’m A/Bing versus my Super Stack and the gain is in my opinion all the difference in the world.

Outstanding!
Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. I LOVE the Super Stack, but the lack of gain (and it being overwhelmingly bass centric) makes it slightly less desirable.

Have you tried this with guitar at all?

Also, what settings are you using on your CabZone? i just picked up the Cabzone X in the TB classifies and am working on finding usable settings.

I’ve not tried it with my Jazzmaster, but I will. I got mine voiced for bass.

So on my LE, I downloaded the additional bass IRs. The one I like the best for Fender tonestack pedals is the Celestion V30 bass edition by Shift Line. Also like the Ampeg Heritage B15, but I like that one better with my Slampegg.

I predict the SS is going bye bye.
