Can we get a sneak peek of the metallic black?Me tooI'm doing the powdercoating by color, I figured that's the fastest way. I got all the metallic black done last night, hoping to get a lot more done today/tonight, then on to engraving, which only takes about 15 minutes per pedal. I'm optimistic that I could start shipping finished units out by Monday

While I'm in a picture-sharing mood (which let's be honest, I always am) I finally had a chance to get this thing put together. The Large Hadron Collider is basically a Particle Accelerator using a pair of 5672 pentode tubes instead of the 6N21B dual triode tube. So here's my opinion:
Cons: tubes are a little microphonic, mounted foam tape under them to mitigate; output level is less than original, gets a little over unity; tubes don't visibly glow
Pros: fat, warm sound, every bit as good as the original; ONLY DRAWS 60mA!!! I was originally planning 150mA or so, but I tried a high-efficiency regulator for the heaters and it brought power consumption way down.
I plan to get some clips recorded of this one so I can A/B it with a Particle Accelerator.

I use 3mm LEDs, and I found some flickering ones on Amazon but they're all out of orange, trying to decide between red or blueNow is when you pull out the orange LED to fake iteven better, flame flicker!

Which one of those bits has the magic smoke in it?I mean the boxes aren't big enough to put a battery inside, but yeah a 6N21B will drain a full 9V battery in an hour or so.
