I am glad I found this thread and the subsequent website. The Orange AD200 is my dream amp but as much as I want this, it's simply not feasible for me. I am currently using the Amplitube version of this amp and it works well enough but it never quite gets it right. So, to those that own the London Underground, how do you like it?

I have one. and i really dig the sound with the gain knob passed noon. it really starts to saturate the signal in what my ears recognize as a desirable overdriven tube kind of saturation. I’ve never played through the AD200 so I can’t really speak to how accurate of a representation of that amp it is. But I definitely dig the sounds I’ve been getting out of it.

The biggest difference between this pedal and “non sushi” offerings is the “heft” it adds. some guys call this a “three dimensional” sound. I’ve noticed this phenomenon to be true with all the sushi pedals i’ve tried thus far.

Thanks. I have to buy more Cioks power cables. Also, the new pedals are not well received by my other pedals. I’m getting a squeal. This usually happens to me when the wrong pedals are powered together. Time to troubleshoot!

I'm noticing a high current warm up of 10 min, and power cycle 3, 4 times after warm and may go away, if it's not a isolation issue like you think, happened to me

I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. Certain pedals are worse than others. In this instance the sunder and LS are making the worst noise and they were very quiet before. I’m thinking it could be a mismatch in impedance too. I gotta sit down and figure it out.

Currently Unnamed SVT CL preamp - Yup, SVT preamp using a pair of 12AX7, same size box as Deep Dish etc. I haven't finished the layout yet, but I plan to finish it as soon as the January orders are done so it can go out with the rest of these for a February prototype.

I appreciate the interest, I have been known to let go of prototypes, but I won't take money until I find out for sure that something works. The boards actually showed up today though, but I will need a parts order for some of the weird stuff on it, so SBVT will probably get put together next month.

Yeah I'm getting a high pitched noise from one of the pedals. It's not too bad but it's definitely there. It goes away once the Slampegg is removed from the chain. My pedal power is isolated. Not sure what up with that but I like the Slampegg more than the pedal that is picking up the noise so...

I may have went a little off the deep end trying to figure out an answer for my DrWattson, and I don't think I can even call mine a Dr.Wattson anymore I didn't lose traces/pads like Sushi did...but I'll just say I'm getting ready to remove the 2nd tube as I took it's gain out of the circuit already:
No R12
No C12
No R23
R16 back to 22k
R20 to 47K
R11 to 470K
R21 to 10K pot (adjustable tube bias)
Volume pin 2 jumped to another 250k pot to basically limit the max vol of Vol1, then jumped to output on 3pdt.
Maybe I should rename mine Frankenstein's Monster

My friend bought my old Lightning Boy Audio Thunderknob (has a 12AX7), and he has that same high pitched sound. The only thing we can narrow it down to is his power supply. It doesn't have that noise when it's not on his pedalboard.

I was getting some high pitch squealing though, and it was the only thing plugged in, so not sure what that’s about. I’ll have to try moving it about my office and try a different setup.

I get the high pitched squeal as well, even on isolated power. If you click the button on/off a couple times it gets quieter but never goes away.

I was getting all kinds of artifacts, squeals, pops and an oscillation that eventually just slowed to a stop. So far though I've played about 2 hours into it and its gone away. There has been a new "sound" every time I've turned it on though, but they are slowly getting less and less. Latest is when the gain is in a specific turn, a series of squeals and static comes through, but when sweeping the pot either direction away from that it goes away. I have also noticed, the higher volume/master is, the more pronounced any of this gets (I'm not even getting into what happens when both knobs are at 100%)

Aside from the above its an amazing sounding pedal, I would also make sure EVERYTHING that's connected to your bass, is all grounded in the same location

My PA and SlamX are dead silent. DrWattson had a little bit of noise but only when it shared power (and that includes using a Cioks current doubler cable). When I powered it via a single cable and just let it warm up slowly @ 500ma or used a dedicated onespot, it was silent.

Now that my mods are done and 2nd tube removed, 500ma is plenty and it warms up faster, its dead silent and its so much fun messing with vol settings and gain bias

That said, I wouldn't attempt to repeat this. I went a little wild with random values and soldered/unsoldered the same parts so many times I'm surprised I didn't lose a pad. I definitely have too many electronics parts/tools around for my own good...

I have everything on a power strip: when my head is turned off, so is my whole board, because it's all turned off via a stripes switch.
Except I left my bass plugged in last night and it killed my 9v. And of course the first thing I tried to mess with this morning was my last DrW mod. So yeah, that turned out fun.
Thought I broke DrW but nope, my bass was just dead and not actually sending any signal.

Shouldn't be too much really, these are originally military tubes that are designed to run reliably with constant usage. When I test a new design I'll leave it running for 3-4 hours, and for debugging (I've had some that run fine for 10 minutes until they heat up) I've left them on for 24 hours before. I've seen 6N21Bs go microphonic, but I have yet to actually see one fail.
