The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Please delete if this isn’t allowed, but would anyone be interested in buying a Westinghouse from the March batch? I realize I’ve been using pedals as a sort of crutch or excuse not to practice (the next pedal will make me a much better bassist!) and am looking to get rid of most of my pedals. Thanks.
I would if I didn't already have one on order. :)
Good luck!

If anyone wants this one now and has an order in for April, I’ll buy your April slot so you can buy this one. That is as long as changes can be made which should be for a couple more days.

If you haven't found anyone to take it yet let me know, I can always just refund you for it and save it for later.

Pedals don't make you a better bassist. Only better basses make you a better bassist. And better amps.

edit to say And better cables.

While it's true that pedals can't make you a better player, if it makes playing more enjoyable in such a way that it makes you practice more because you're having fun, then at the same time don't restrict yourself from enjoying it.

I think we all go through it at some point, I know I did and I've seen others on TB who have. Some stay away from pedals for good, some end up with even bigger boards than before. My only recommendation would be don't sell something you can't easily get back, at least not yet when you're in the drastic-swing stage of this decision. A Sushibox Westinghouse, pretty easy to buy another (at least right now, just might wait a few months). A more rare pedal (some Broughton, some Chase Bliss, Highwind, anything limited runs, etc), might be worth just putting in a drawer for a while until you've really decided if you'll stay away from pedals, or start building a new board.

Hey, Mr. Box (if that is your real name)...
Octave pedal?

Among many other effects, the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] has a Pitch Shifter/Octave function available.

Yep. Seen it online. But how do you load a patch? What’s the deal? I’m pretty sure that’s why I skipped it. But I’d try it. How’s it work?
Patches are loaded during assembly and selected by a rotary switch, though with the new revision of the board I used a socketed through-hole EEPROM, so if you want to try out new patches I can send you a new EEPROM and you can swap it yourself.

The secret is definitely the cables. I bought really good cables like a decade ago and haven’t got any better since then no matter what bass or pedals I’m using, so ipso facto must be the cables.

Innate talent may have a small role too ! I know that as much as I love music and playing the bass - the talent fairy skipped past me entirely - even decades of practice / great pedals and monster cables - fabled amps and custom basses can’t manage to elevate me much past random moments of adequacy . At least so far anyway .... Maybe the next big thing will do it !! … Yes - Hope springs eternally in the self deluded ..... Kelly

You laugh but I got some new cables last March and then I was a soloist for about a year. So it must be the cables.
