The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Patches are loaded during assembly and selected by a rotary switch, though with the new revision of the board I used a socketed through-hole EEPROM, so if you want to try out new patches I can send you a new EEPROM and you can swap it yourself.
Whoh! We can swap out the sounds? This really changes things. I thought we were wedded to the sounds in the original upload.... Hmm... I may need to rethink this one.

It's always kind of been an option, but before it involved sending the pedal to me to be re-flashed as the EEPROM was soldered directly to the board, but all my digital boards have programming headers so they're re-flashable.

Alright, so my band has our first show (with me involved) tomorrow and I was trying to think of a way to encourage people to go. My wife said I'm not allowed to give away a pedal, but if you come to the show and come talk to me I'll give you a 20% off coupon for your next order.

WC Social Club, 920 Roosevelt Rd, West Chicago, IL 60185

The real surprise of the night will be one of two things:

1) your pedalboard is all boss and joyo pedals.
2) you're actually a no-effects "plug directly into the amp only" guy.

Isn't he the drummer? (ducks for cover)
Yup, there's the surprise of the night :P I'm on drums, and the guitarist and bassist are both running through big digital IR units straight into the PA. I'm still working on turning them, but I don't think anything less than Gondwana would do it. They understand the awesomeness of tubes, but they want the convenience of IR.

This just arrived

@Sushi Box FX do you have a desoldering gun?

I think I might get the hakko eventually.
I tried one at work once, an expensive weller station, and I didn't really like it. Now I use a cheap ($50) hot air station from Amazon anytime I need to desolder anything more than a couple pins.

I have the Hakko, and I hate it. I can do a faster and better job with solder wick, a solder pump, and/or a hot air station.
Maybe I suck at using it, but I can hand-solder a tqfp32 without a second thought, so I'd like to think my soldering/tool usage skills aren't THAT horrible.

I'm on my way. Leaving Nashville now. Hopefully I can make it in time

While it's true that pedals can't make you a better player, if it makes playing more enjoyable in such a way that it makes you practice more because you're having fun, then at the same time don't restrict yourself from enjoying it.

I think we all go through it at some point, I know I did and I've seen others on TB who have. Some stay away from pedals for good, some end up with even bigger boards than before. My only recommendation would be don't sell something you can't easily get back, at least not yet when you're in the drastic-swing stage of this decision. A Sushibox Westinghouse, pretty easy to buy another (at least right now, just might wait a few months). A more rare pedal (some Broughton, some Chase Bliss, Highwind, anything limited runs, etc), might be worth just putting in a drawer for a while until you've really decided if you'll stay away from pedals, or start building a new board.

This is great advice. If I ever pick up guitar again, I have a feeling I’m going to miss my Klon and King of Tone... it’s also why I’ve been eying those big-box Cali76s...

Thanks :) I got it from CE Distribution, that's where I get all my tubes and general amp stuff (though I get to go through their wholesale arm and get a little discount).
