@Sushi Box FX you make me want to learn how to make PCB and hand solder SMT just to make a custom tube big muff /supa tonebender for bass, I know it's a bad idea...

I've had a couple people ask about a tube big muff, I'm still considering it but it's not on the top of my list.
I'm actually using the old "nixie supply" for high voltage, it uses an NE555 as the oscillator, then just add MOSFET, inductor, a handful of resistors and capacitors and you're good to go. It switches above audio frequency (unless you make the mistake of adjusting the voltage too low), it can supply up to 400V, and depending on whose numbers you trust can do somewhere between 10-30mA output.
Something I should say more often and probably put on the website, reverse engineering pedals isn't super fun, so if anyone ever wants to know how any of my pedals work let me know, I'll share schematics. Nothing I'm doing is proprietary, new, or remotely patentable, so I don't mind sharing.
If anyone ever thought "hey it would be neat if Sushi Box made a programmable looper" the answer is no. Absolutely not. I just finished assembling this one I built for myself, and it was waaaaaaaaayyy to much effort to want to do again, let alone more than once.

Alright, the CNC machine and I talked out our differences and I think we're on okay terms now. I guess this enclosure isn't a total waste, I suppose that's where I'll put my personal SBVT.
Welp, looks like the CNC is holding a grudge and I'm ending up with two blemished SBVT enclosures. Oh well.
SBVT - Gain at 3:00, Master at 12:00, Frequency at position 4, Bass at 3:00, Mids at 12:00, Treble at 11:00. That's my jam. Nice round sound with a decent bite and some dirt on it.
I completely forgot to do Deep Dish, then I still have to wire up a new Wrecking Ball because the prototype has vanished, but after those two I will be officially done with bass demos and I'll get everything posted before I move on to guitar demos.
EDIT: Scratch that, gain at about 1:30. 3:00 is still nice, but has a little too much growl for my personal taste.

That looper is too pretty to end up at someone's feet ! It's possible it'll start another wave of stoner / shoe gaze bands all by itself !!!!! So happy to hear the demo's are nearly done - really looking forward to hearing them - thanks for all your hard work Senor . Is it possible the CNC machine is having some bearing wear issues on the drill section - just a guess but perhaps some of the CNC users here can help troubleshoot it with you .... Kelly
So the cause of the most recent mistake was operator error, I don't have homing switches so I've been calibrating it manually, but I haven't done it lately, so it may have gotten bumped while it was turned off and I didn't notice because I don't calibrate it every time I run it (which I probably should).
The biggest issue I've been having seems to either be a software issue or a controller issue, it will get through the first few dozen lines of code then stop and just hang there, and I can't get it to respond until I reboot the computer. It started doing it last month, but I haven't been able to get it to stop, and there's no consistent scenario that does or doesn't make it hang up, so I don't think it's anything in my gcode.
So anyway on the first blem box the y-axis was way off, basically tried to mill the whole thing down 3 inches, which is why the top slot ended up on the bottom of the box. The second one had been started before that and was going well until the machine hung up and I had to reboot, but apparently it was off about 0.5mm on the y-axis so when I recalibrated and tried it again it milled 0.5mm higher than it had before. Neither box looks awful, there are no structural issues that would prevent them being used, but it takes 45 minutes to mill a new one so there's no reason for me to force these on a customer. I will be keeping one and I've already worked out where the other will go.
The hang-up until reboot is annoying and a minor inconvenience, but actually ruining an enclosure beyond usability is extremely rare with this machine, I have very few complaints about it.
I'm a terrible solderer so if the wife could help me in that she'd get a nice reward in the jewelry dept.

And actually on that note I have the Wrecking Ball X wired up and am getting ready to record the last bass demo. This was never intended to be used on bass, but my goodness it sounds good.
