Would it be easier to run pink noise through it and analyze the response on a frequency graph? Send me one and we’ll see who finishes first. lol

I guess possibly? Realistically the math isn't that hard, I just need to sit down and do it. Pink noise through a spectrum analyzer to find center frequencies could get you pretty close though.

Can anyone comment on the sound difference between the Vampire Slayer and the Westinghouse? As a set and forget signal chain tooberizer, what differences are there?

Vampire Slayer is a buffer, Westinghouse is a boost, completely different animals. Running a tube buffer after digital pedals to sweeten the sound is neat and my personal favorite application of VS, but it's a buffer, and buffers are generally designed to be subtle. So basically if you need a buffer Vampire Slayer is excellent, but if you don't need a buffer (a general rule of thumb is that if you don't know if you need a buffer then you probably don't need a buffer) you honestly might not hear much difference. Westinghouse is a much more noticeable tone.

@Sonicblaze said he was getting everything up so it should actually be JCE this time, and not just a copy of the DWX demo.

I still haven't gotten around to doing the artwork on the Wrecking Ball X, that's on my list for today. Also I've moved to final assembly for the June batch and have 1/3 of the batch wired up and ready for final testing, so I should absolutely be able to get everything finished up by this weeekend.

Thanks I showed it to one of my friends and he asked how I printed on the plate like that It turned out super cool, I'm excited to get a clear coat on it tonight and get some guts in it.

Thanks, I liked the way the two-tube pedals look with the symmetric slots, and that was the only way I could think of to keep symmetry with three tubes. I thought about trying the V like that on a single tube build so all slots will be symmetrical all the time, but I haven't talked myself into it yet.

Damn, that looks incredible! Although my OCD wants that top middle "V" moved to the bottom...

I'm also imagining those V's above the controls as angry eyebrows, but I don't think it would have the same effect with the knobs on.

I'm over here still truckin' along with my soon-to-be-collector's-item PA mini with side jacks and Slampegg mini.

I put the PA back on my big board for a gig last weekend, finally not needing the looper pedal that usurped its real estate for a time. This time, though, I ran it at 12V.

In the past, I'd had an issue with 7-8 pedals flashing a number of times while the PA thirstily drank its share of punch from the communal bowl. Well, that was at 9V, and going to 12, maybe three pedals flashed, and not 9-10 times, but maybe four times.

Sweet!

And I don't think it felt noticeably warmer to the touch or anything. But I sure had missed its magic sauce on my board, and it lent a touch of warmth (well, tubey, silky grit) to the aggressively modern active EMG pickups & preamp on the bass I used for that gig.

I don't think I've got the power resources for (m)any more t00bz, at least not concurrently heh... but I do still very much lust for them, and also for such digital fineness as the Echosaurus and Robot Butterfly.


Edit: also it was my first gig with an originals group at an ACTUAL MUSIC VENUE (and not a restaurant, brewery, winery, etc) since Feb 2020!!!

Am I crazy, or does the PAX have slightly more compression when powered at 9v, and when the gain is near max with the volume used to control for overall output?
