Received my Westinghouse today. Only had a few minutes with it, but incredibly reminiscent of the Edison, but clearer, more range, and a much better layout (top jacks and controls on the face of the box). I really hope that Mr. Sushi goes back to the dial control on the voltage. It is subtle, but there are many great sounds throughout the range of the dial. Great take on a great design. These can be used in many different ways. Such a great tool.
I think I've decided how I'll heat my home office this winter...

Spent some more time with the Westinghouse. Too much high end for me, and it scoops the midrange (like the Edison does). I do like that it's not as dark as the Edison, but is too bright for my liking. Still glad I tried it!
I'm thinking about it. If I limit the low end of the voltage to 80V or so then you can still get a nice sweep of voltages but it never gets down to the range where the power supply has an audible whine. I just need to convince myself it's worth it when I personally like it best fully cranked at 235V.
I'm also considering adding some sort of tone control to the new version. I may keep the voltage knob and do a tone stack, in which case I would probably bump it up the next size box (like PAX et al).
EDIT: it's probably worth mentioning I've also considered scrapping Westinghouse altogether and removing it from the lineup because of my love/hate relationship with EF86 tubes. We'll see how it plays out in the next month or so.

I hate to say it, but I think you could come up with your own tube design that would be better (more flexible) in many ways. The Westinghouse is great, but not that different from the Edison. Improved, but you could do your own thing and it would be great.
That would open up such a rat nest of possibilities as whatever you choose there will be contrary opinions. Folks have become so sophisticated about tone stacks, self included and by no means in a bad way, that we all have our preferences and harsh opinions. Simple Treble Bleed, Roll off, Rocker, Baxandall 2 band variations, 3 band , parametric mids, and so on.
Or you could do something really nutty like partner with @rratajski at Fuzzrocious and mindmeld a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] or Space Heater with a Feed Me or Baxstabber for a limited run some with Shannon's hand painted art, kid paint, groovy colors, acid etched or something else special. Remember where y'all got the idea.

I would likely purchase a "Westinghouse with a tone stack," were you to offer such a beast for sale.
In the 20 minutes or so I spent with it,
I like it.
With the gain low, it gives this sort of "3-D" effect. Lows are tighter, richer mids, full highs. I believe that's how another poster summarized it up-thread.
With the gain up, the dirt/grit is very nice.
That natural tube break-up has a certain "feel" that my other dirt pedals don't quite match.
If I had to offer a con, it would be that the volume control is uber sensitive.
A little goes a long way.

Basically true of most of my pedals. A couple comments that I've had that I think would be good standard features are a switchable output pad for when you don't need oodles of volume, and a switchable output buffer for when the pedal isn't playing nice with pedals downstream.
It is quite touchy, but I quickly discovered that the gain has a much smoother taper, and to set the volume to "just enough", then set overall tone/volume with the gain control.
A switchable output pad would be a great addition on most of the preamp pedals

Wonder if that would help get rid of smoke from......other things......as well?
