It will have a real spring tank in it, I think the Dr. Z unit has a 3-spring tank. I'm planning to do a larger (non-pedal) version as a spring tank mounted on your pedalboard is a bad idea for the reason you illustrate there
Yup, I'm a sucker for wood grain in general, but especially extremely figured wood and especially walnut. My tele and my J bass are both "figured" walnut tops, but they're nothing compared to this. This may end up giving my tele the boot out the door.
A car repair customer of mine had that unit back in the '60s. It made cool Boing Boing noises whenever the car went over bumps. It sounded good when the car was stopped, though.

In case anyone was wondering, the Dr. Z Z Verb is an exact copy of the old Fender 6G15 spring reverb with like 3 component values changed. It's very well built and it sounds great, but I bought one and spent an hour tracing the schematic just to find out it's a slightly modified Fender clone
Heh Senor - Did anything happen with the potential pedal stash sale to fund the new guitar ? I checked the new site but might have missed any reference to used pedals up for adoption .... Kelly
Nothing official happened, it was more of an informal option. I wasn't planning to put it up on the website or anything, but if anyone wants anything I have on hand, I'll let it go. Anything in particular you're looking for?
Speaking from experience you really should keep your wall of shame for posteriorness and all of that.
Ya just never know.
Well that's the best bit, anything I sell I can rebuild for myself when I have some time. It's not like I forgot how to build these.
Quick August update:
I still don't know what's going on with my enclosure/footswitch/knob order. It's coming via DHL which is usually absurdly fast, but it's been switching back and forth between "on hold" and "processing" every single day for over a week now. DHL informed me that it's just waiting for the next plane to go to the states, but a whole week?
So anyway, in an effort to reduce the delay of the August batch I've placed an order for enclosures, footswitches, and knobs from a US distributor, and I'm still going to get everything finished and shipped out as close to September 1 as possible.
The only possible thing that could distract me is the next piece of news.
Sashimi Fuzz and Echosaurus Valve just cleared customs in Chicago. ETA was originally Wednesday, but they could come a day or two early.

Happily trending in my own peculiar direction.
My thoughts exactly. The main reason for the tubification (real word) of Echosaurus is that I expect it to sound significantly better, which in my opinion justifies the higher price. Absolute worst case scenario I expect it to only sound moderately (5-10%, however you measure "sound goodness") better. If this turns out to be the case I will keep one tube version for myself (duh) and redesign the original non-tube Echosaurus for a smaller enclosure and keep it going as-is with the current price.

Hey Senor - 5 to 10 % ' better ' on something unique like a tube Echo might be appealing enough to folks here to justify a limited higher end run - just a thought .... Lots of pedal geeks chase those last few percentage points with serious dedication ! ... Kelly
Have you talked about the Sashimi in further detail than to say it will be a tube fuzz and I missed that post? Or is it still a secret?

It's not a secret per se, but I haven't really revealed a lot about it. It will have a tube (haven't decided which yet, but probably 12AX7) and a pair of NOS germanium transistors. It will have gain, volume, and tone controls, as well as a switchable noise gate with adjustable threshold. It will go in the same size enclosure as Underground Accelerator, Slampegg, etc. Then of course all the typical stuff, 9-12V universal polarity input, true bypass, top jacks, all that jazz.
Finally finished up my workshop project. Having wires pre-cut to length saves me a ton of time, and previously I paid my niece to cut them for me, and bless her heart she didn't do a great job. So I designed this thing, powered by an Arduino, to precisely measure each length of wire I need for each size of pedal. My wife already said it's so easy to use she wouldn't mind cutting wire while watching TV, but I also plan to train my 7 year old daughter to use it, she'll be the main operator.
