The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

The problem people have is patience; they have none.

I just got a kingsley maiden bf and I bet I can sell it for 200 over because it has a 6 month wait list. I'll be getting in two snouse black boxes next week and I bet I could do 100+ over on each because it's currently a 2 year wait-list (I got on the list with a 10 month wait list). If you can be patient and play with the toys you already have, you can do well.
I get it. But what about the Protein? You can buy one in stock and resell it on Reverb for more than it costs, and they're in stock. That's just bananas.
You could probably mark up the Kingsley. But it's too cool, you should play it.

That reminds me of another oddity I've seen.

Pedals/basses that are already in stock, at a retailer, and then the price goes up, after the company issues a price increase.
You'd think they'd want to move stock (that's been sitting there) at the old price, rather than making it sit even longer.

I have no idea why people would pay that much over. Used ones go for new price, but they have a 2-4 week wait time after ordering to get one. So "in stock" might mean they have the parts but they build then as the orders come in. Who knows.

Man, if I can just get past the August batch...

The UV printer is fighting with me. It was printing great last night and I got half of the enclosures printed, and now today it's refusing to print right, everything looks washed out and blurry. I'm going to purge all the lines (makes me sound like I know what I'm doing) and agitate the inks, I've been told some inks "settle" when they haven't been used for a while and need to be shaken up. I'm going to try not to let this delay things, but it's looking like it may delay things. I'm still going to do everything I can to finish up the batch this weekend, and I will of course keep everyone posted.

In case anyone was wondering what a fistfight with a UV printer looks like, it looks a lot like this.

I found out I have to go to the airport tomorrow morning at 5:30 to pick someone up, and since I slept until noon today I'm planning on just staying up until then and going to bed after I get back, sleep until 2pm or so. Weekends are the best :P

Hell yeah I won the fight. Top is pre-fight printing, bottom is post-fight printing. Only took 1 1/2 hours, but now I know EXACTLY what to do if it happens again.

I'll buy some mis-printed bottom plates if you decide not to use them. I'll use those to put velcro on so I don't mess up my awesomely printed bottom plates :)

My wife makes fun of me for even bothering to print on bottom plates. "So people stick a big piece of velcro there, and nobody is even going to see the logo?"

The misprints will be sanded down and re-printed. I don't have a big stock of separate bottom plates, each one is matched to an enclosure, so not using them isn't really an option.

I find excessive Velcro counter productive, annoying, and unnecessary. I use less than two square inches on most pedals. Tell your wife I enjoy your bottom plate graphics and text on a regular basis.

To save a round of printing on the bottom plates you could always put your logo and write up on a sticker on the inside of the bottom plate. But I guess having that on the outside bottom is part of the aesthetics of your pedals. Personally, I open every pedal I receive before slapping velcro on there and putting it to the test on a pedalboard and I like when there's something in there, signature or whatever else.

He could also print on the sides or side-bottom-front... If that makes sense. Kinda like the placement of the jhs logo.

That said, mr sushi can do whatever he wants and we can deal with it...
I was suggesting possibly putting a sticker inside to mostly to save the printing process a step and avoid potential issues like Mr Sushi had this time but yea something on the sides is also a seldom used option that can work in the right situation. Southampton also prints on the side if I remember well.

Of course you should do whatever you like though!

I'm still hoping to hear good news about the Sashimi soon!

Sashimi is in the revision process, I'm taking it in a different direction. I'm trying to order new boards 3 or so at a time, I have one ready to go (Echosaurus) and another in progress (Verellen Meatsmoke), so Sashimi will be the third in that order when it goes out.

My focus right now is obviously the August batch, but when that wraps up I'll be pushing back to prototyping.

I hope you are not putting off the Nuclear Assassinator (love that double ass) DI development, not like I really need another DI but other folks seem to be interested.

Is that an Otter Pop wrapper in there? I love those things.
