The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

My Dr. WattsonX will be here tomorrow. Can’t wait to check it out.
I should really get some documentation written up for referfence, but the new (starting in August batch) Dr. Wattson X have an internal "ATTEN" trimpot that sets the maximum output volume. Space Heaters have these as well.

King Nothing has internal DIP switches to turn on MOSFET input and output buffers. Slampegg has internal switches to turn on a MOSFET output boost and a trimpot to set the level of the boost. These should have documentation so everyone knows what they are and what they do, but I was scrambling to finish the August batch and completely forgot to write something up to send with them. I'll get something written up and have it posted to the website for reference.

Thanks for that. Just when I was done buying pedals :)

I see it needs 900ma at 9v at warmup...would it need less current at 12v?
Actually @Sonicblaze should take a look at that, it shouldn't be that high with a single tube, those look like dual tube numbers. It should be around 500mA during warmup and 250mA after warmup. 12V may draw a little less during warmup but will draw a little more after warmup.

That's what it says...now :wacky:

Dr. wattsonx arrived safely today. About to go jam with the fellas.

Just from noodling, it sounds great and I have no crazy noise issues like with the small tube version.

It’s also a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. Nice work Nathan.
I regret not getting the X version instead of the SV, that little mini wattson sounded awesome, after I padded the heck out of the gain that is

(intentionally cropped vague picture to start drama)

Didn't crop enough.
I see what it is, and I want one.
Yeah it's not super hard to get it from the crop, but I figured it's mysterious enough that you have to know in order to know. I wanted it to be mysterious, but still wanted to leave a solid clue ;)

Either way.

I want one:D
I'm in the process of figuring out how much they will cost me to make so I can decide how much to sell them for, then I'll decide how many I want to make and order boards. Once I've verified that the design works, I'll announce it officially and open preordering. The Secret Society will of course be the first to know ;)

In the meantime, now is a good time to order Finally for October. I need a new powdercoating gun :P

Gees - if you in the know folks know - how about letting the rest of us Luddites/ Rubes in on the SECRET ! .... Since it's handwired it is likely to be a limited run given the Senor's previous disagreement with using that method regularly . Those of us waiting for the Super Noble DI - with limited cash flows need advance notice to start selling organs now ! .... Actually though of course I'm really more in the organ buying mode [ kidney ] as my girlfriend has money and some not quite understandable desire to see me live awhile longer ! LOL .... Kelly
