The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

At the rate we're going, that should only be a few weeks away. Better start working on that pedal! ;)
Looking back at the beginning it looks like we're only 6 days away from the 1 year anniversary of the creation of the thread, so that's a pretty big deal too. So what do I call it? I'm thinking something along the lines of "I've Been a Member of a Secret Society for a Whole Year and All I Got Was this Stupid Pedal".

I think it should be an insider thing, so "IBAMOASSFAWYAAIGWTSP", and we'll just call it Ibam for short.

*Edit: There should only be 5 controls:
When
You
Know
You
Know
And yes, the duplicate words make it all the more secret trying to tell people what does what.

Dang, that's good, but maybe a little too long to fit on a pedal, so how about just calling it 10K?

Well 10k would be for the 10k posts; this was the 'it's been a year this thread existed' pedal.

IBAM could be a 2 channel Tilt eq:
When = footswitch between two channels
You = channel 1 Pivot Point freq for Tilt EQ
Know = channel 2 Tilt EQ control
You = channel 2 pivot
Know = channel 2 tilt
Bonus footswitched called "Huh?" that bypasses it.

I'm sure there are tons of EF86 or 806 pedals. The line is where is it described as a clone of an existing pedal.

We (Southampton Pedals) cloned the long dead Designer Submarine. But it wasn't in production and was impossible to find and we tried to find the original designer to give him a cut , and when we couldn't we donated money to charity.

Cloning any existing pedal is an ethical issue. Especially small builders that have small margins to begin with.

I'm all for expanding on designs or cloning pedals that don't exist, but cloning a current production pedal is questionable.

I have a PA, UA & Echosaurus on order a Smoke Signal and Finally with a Jensen.
My only amp is a GK MB 500 but I use several different cabs.
I don't even have a smoke signal on order, but I already ordered red and blue knobs for when I do :bag:
Is the Finally going to try and replace another DI on your board? I've got a JDI, Countryman, IMP, and CabM+ I'm going to put it up against and see who stays as my primary; (I rarely use the extra stuff on the M+, they really missed the boat for me by not giving it MIDI)

...my guess is that at least five of the six people that got a Smoke Signal in the very first run are reading this thread.

I just wanted to offer to any one of you that should you desperately need your cash back, or should you find out that your SO will kick you out of the house should another of those darn pedals arrive or maybe you've decided to quit smoking and don't want anything smoke related near you in the future or have another reason entirely ... should you want to back out of the Smoke Signal order, I'd graciously step in and take your spot. Even if you did not order the pedal in Rainbow's End w/ simple graphics (:

I'm curious what amps everyone feeds their sushibox's into?

My last pedal is a Schalltechnik_04 Vong Filterung, which is a HPF+LPF with a DI out.

I mostly go straight into the board from there.

If amp, then a class D poweramp (in most cases the FX return of a Tonehammer 500) with barefaced ccabinets. I have a Super Compact and a Super Midget. In most cases, the Midget is more than enough.

At home I usually practice direct to an old interface that I strictly use as a headphone amp these days. Typically no cab sim or anything, just pedalboard into one of a few different tube preamps, and then DI to interface from there.

Live I use an Aguilar TH500 with one or two Ampeg SVT 210AV cabs. Depending on my mood and what’s on my board at the time, I’ll either run the pedalboard into the front end of the amp, or using a pedal pre or external tube preamp into the FX Return on the amp. Come to think of it, I actually haven’t tried this with my LUPAX yet.

I keep a GK Backline 600 with a Peavey 210 cab in the workshop for testing, so every single Sushi Box pedal everyone here owns has been plugged into it at least once. But I suppose that's also my only working amp as I still haven't found time to fix up my early 70s Ampeg B-25B. The Ampeg will go on top of my monstrous Eden 610 when it's done.

Oh you should definitely get that B25b fixed up!

I run the Westinghouse through a Broughton Messenger pre into a GK powered 2x12 which has outstanding presence. I have drowned out the guitar on a few occasions. :whistle:

Recently got a Genzler Magellan 800 & BA15-3 and run the UA through it. And a Traynor YBA100 just arrived for my Avatar 410. That's definitely gonna get some Echosaurus
