Yeah, I was about to throw down but I need/want/could prolly do without a monocomp/apex/2ndgenempress. I did hold down one, so maybe a comp will be out soon, or design at least

@Sushi Box FX I know you have your new color toy, but could I request a blank one? brand up the bottom all you want, I wanted to make ampeg theme one (if not, cool, I didn't know if you were going in a custom direction with the UV printer or not like the colors) and the special colors you mentioned before, I know there's time to iron it out but do I just message you about those?

The struggle is real. I'm holding for a couple of X Series pedals and the LA-1A clone if it gets sorted by then...

tons of volume on tap. I have gain around 1 o clock and have to have the master under 9 to keep it at a good headphone level. Bass control has tons of variety from left to right. It gets very bassy. Mid control is a good range as well, but I don’t hear much swing in the treble. I noticed if I cut the mids, I hear more range on the treble knob, but once I boost the mids, there’s not much I hear.


The only concern I have is that when my master is all the way off, I still get a small signal when the pedal is engaged. If the gain is dimed, it’s pretty obvious, but as your turn the gain back it’s a faint signal. At 9 o clock it’s almost nonexistent, but if you cut it back even more, it actually get slightly louder.

Doesn’t really matter to me since this is my recording interface preamp and headphone amp, so it will be always on. But for people using it as a drive pedal, they may run into issues since the master volume is so loud beyond 9 o clock.

However, the gain range is SUPER useable as a preamp. I like dirt to my tone, and this gets me that in spades. Still clear and not fizzy sounding, but tons of bite and very touch sensitive. I’m in love with this pedal. I’ll try and get a video demo in the coming days.

Update in this. I was using a cabsim before in my initial review. When I disengage it, I hear a much wider range on the treble, but it does seem to be the top end, so maybe my cab sim has a LPF cutting off those highs.

I could absolutely do a blank one, totally an option if you want it.

X Series should definitely be ready by then, LA-1A should hopefully be done by then.

Nope, top jacks for everyone. Side jacks are no longer an option starting February.

Also I totally forgot to add the new colors to the website, I need to get that done ASAP.

I thought about sending you the art, but I want to add Ampeg somewhere on it, have some horizontal lines running through the pot holes. I didn't know if you selling something with another brand would be taboo, copywrite ect., if I did it it would just be modified. Although the white ink on black would look better

Shoot me a message about it. I could probably do it, but it would take some setup work on my end so I would have to charge extra for it.

I thought about Slampegg in the same italic font, I just want that and vertical lines running through the knob holes like b15 faceplate. He mentioned doing custom work with the UV printer, figured these were along those lines. But I agree nothing should have another name on it coming from him. I'm sure this will run circles around the actual scrambler or classic anyway

Would this be too much of a likeness? This is along the lines of what I've always wanted to do with a portaflex clone. Proportions are most definitely off but this is idea, black on black, or black with silver knobs/black collar knobs, Red LED, white imprint. OR a polished box, which would be amazing but beyond some work (not sure how these boxes buff down)
