Sashimi is active, there are 3 on order for November. Also due to having some free time in October I milled extra Sashimi enclosures, so if I get bored in December I'll probably build up a few for stock.

My music room is still in shambles as I wait for the carpet so I don't have recording capabilities for demos at the moment, hopefully I can get better demos up in December.

The prototype boards are still sitting on my shelf. I've been dragging my feet because the number of jacks required makes it inconvenient to wire up without an enclosure so I've been telling myself I'll get an enclosure built up before assembling it, and I haven't done the enclosure. Also planned for December.

I'm about to dip my toe into the Sushi Box pool, albeit via the used market - an older small tube Slampegg Bee. I can't wait to add some tube warmth and mild overdrive to my pedal board.

Hoping if it works out to add a Smoke Signal to the chain too.

That's how it starts. You get an old pedal with the small tube second hand for a good price.
Happened to me, too.
Then you discover this here thread and report. As you just did.
Next you will try the pedal and like it a lot.
Then people here will tell you that if you like that old one, you will like another pedal (current model) a lot more.
You take the leap of faith, and place an order - the next thing you know is your PSU needs a massive upgrade because it can't handle that many Sushi Boxes.

You have been warned.

Less output, the tone knobs did less, kind of like it was stuck half throttle. But with the PSA there is just more of everything.

Thanks. I had a gig Friday night at the Forge in down town Joliet, IL. Had my pedal board going to my amp and the volume would dip and fade away. I have a Lehle D Loop as a fail safe, so one stomp and I was back in business.

Couldn’t recreate the problem at home and it never happened before so maybe the venues power was less than stellar.

The initial demos that were posted (somewhere) sounded interesting, and different from anything I've got going on right now.

Sashimi is on my list to try some day for sure. I've got it in my head that I'm unhappy with the fuzzes I have right now, but I don't really know what I'm actually looking for. Kind of an "I'll know it when I hear it" type situation.
The initial demos that were posted (somewhere) sounded interesting, and different from anything I've got going on right now.

Yeah it's a different kind of fuzz. I like it, but I'm also not generally a big fan of fuzz. It's not overly crazy or glitchy, but I think it sounds good. It won't be something everyone likes, but I hope the people that try it like it.

I do assembly in batches by pedal, and I always start with the pedal there are the most of. This month that's Fluffy Kitten. My goal was to get everything finished by Thanksgiving and I'm not sure I'm going to make it, but Fluffy Kittens should be done before Thanksgiving.

So for those that aren't aware, this is my general assembly process:

1. Assign "batch number" to each build
2. Organize enclosures and boards to their respective batch number on the shelf
3. Mill enclosures with CNC machine
4. Drill top jacks with drill press
5. Powdercoating and printing (which one happens first depends on the finish)
6. Board assembly; pots, switches, any specialized components the pick-and-place factory doesn't stock (Fluffy Kitten finished this step last night)
7. Final assembly; jacks and footswitches installed in box, board placed in and soldered to jacks, tube(s) installed
8. Play test; make sure the pedal works
9. Finish; knobs and back cover installed, pedal is wiped down to remove fingerprints and put into stamped box
10. Packaging; stamped box is put into a shipping box, taped up, weighed, and labeled

So Fluffy Kittens are all moving to step 7, everything else is ready for step 6. Steps 7 and 10 my wife often helps with, but steps 1-6 and 8-9 are all done by me.

I'm the same way. I have yet to find the "right" fuzz, but I'll know it when I hear it. I think my deal is that I prefer gated and/or weird fuzzes. The Fluffy Kitten sounds like a different kind of fuzz from what I've played through in the past, and I'm looking fwd to tweaking it. Plus, let's just be honest, it looks super cool.

Obviously I don't build pedals, but I've spent a lot of time over the past year buying and selling - dozens upon dozens - and every time a new pedal comes in my wife is genuinely interested in what they do and how they sound. Of course, she does prefer the cute ones ...

Not usually, I generally wait to do all the shipping together. But with the holiday shutting down the post office for a bit I may ship them early this month. We'll see.

My wife is the opposite. She couldn’t care less what they do as long as the mortgage gets paid. She constantly sees boxes coming and going. The only thing she asks is “why do you keep buying them and then selling them?”

Same here. She might shake her head, but as long as the bills are paid and I don't complain about money when she insists on going on vacation, then I don't hear much more about it.
My usual line is "oh! I almost forgot about this pedal I ordered it months ago!" seems to be working so far.

My wife would give me a little ribbing if there's a pedal in the FedEx when I come home. But then (THEN!!!) she was in the closet and pulled over some of my shirts on the bar. Almost all of the pedals I don't use regularly are stacked on the shelf in my closet behind all my clothes. Just seeps like a good place to keep them out of the way. But it's a lot. A lot a lot. Like 7' wide stacked up a couple feet. It's a lot. So now she is less light about it. But the other day when this stupid drum looper showed up she says "I think it's cute, as long as the bills get paid."

So Sashimi and Black Eye coming this month. Make room.

Taught my oldest how to use the hot air reflow station tonight, she's soldering FV-1s onto all my Echosaurus boards right now. She needs more fine motor skills practice before she learns to use the actual iron, but she's doing really well with the hot air.

Slampeg Bee is a 'James Tonestack ? Any differences from a 'standard' James ?
Partial Accelerator X and derivatives is the RCA ? How close ? is the traditional 2-10-2 setting still considered approximate flat ?

I'm with you dude, there's a looooottt of thread here.

Slampegg is a James stack, setup is exactly the same as a typical James, but the values are set for lower frequency than a typical guitar-voiced James, but I left it the same as Ampeg has it.

Particle Accelerator, Underground Accelerator, and London Underground all have the FMV (Fender-Marshall-Vox) tone stack, Underground Accelerator is exactly the same values as the Fender/Alembic stack so 2-10-2 is pretty well flat. Particle Accelerator has a "bass floor mod" so the minimum bass response is higher than usual but otherwise same values as typical Fender/Alembic. London Underground has different values than usual so it's noticeably brighter than typical Fender/Alembic values.
